The image within the stained glass was of a castle on a steep hill, showing the beautiful city below. “I’m a bit nervous.” I admitted ruefully, looking up into Atlas’s brilliant eyes. I don’t know how I hadn’t seen it sooner. Atlas embodied everything beautiful about the Water Court. He was the rain and snow that washed the grime from the world, the ocean’s that churned and housed so much life. “Nervous? The mighty warrior, Raelynn is nervous?” Atlas mused, his lips twitching as he tried and failed not to smirk. “Perhaps my nickname for you is accurate after all.”

He reached out, his fingers hovering over my hand on the desk, aching to touch but refraining. “I hate it too,” he admitted. “I wanted to burn that jersey the second she put it on. But Emilia was right.” I froze. “You talked to Emilia?” “I heard her talking to Ryker,” Evans corrected. “Atlas is planning something for the rally. He wants to publicly claim his territory. If we look like we’re together, he destroys us. If we look like we’re done... maybe he hesitates.” He looked at me with those intense green eyes, pleading with me to understand the strategy.

The girl leaned close, and the boy looked up at her, the corners of his eyes curving slightly. His gaze was full of her. He smiled and pointed to the flowerpot she had just placed nearby. Half teasing, he said, “Then Cecilia is a red rose. Delicate and thorny. Only I can afford to take care of you.” Cecilia turned and looked at the roses Lucas had placed in the room that morning. And tears streamed silently down her face.

He slowly rose back, leaving my neck alone. "You can't trust me even a little bit?" Atlas asked as he returned to his original position. "Would you trust a complete stranger with your life?" I asked him back. I watched as he took in my words and then sighed. "I get it" Atlas replied as he backed away from me. I could see that it hurt him but he was willing to give me space I guess. "I shouldn't have done that" Atlas said as he point to my neck. The thought made me stiffen. Fuckk I forgot I just let Atlas kiss my neck. My hand went up to touch the spot he kissed and it made me clutch my legs together. Gods I'm going crazy...

He held it up to the light, the delicate pen pressed between his fingers - light yet exquisite. "I like it", he turned, staring at the bouquet of blue roses, his gaze complicated. Dylan scratched his head, an awkward laugh escaping his lips. "That... the flower shop i contacted had ran out of chamomiles and only had those". Matthew inhaled, nodding slowly with a low hum. "Thanks" "It was nothing actually, just something that i had to do...out of courtesy", Dylan smiled, waving his hands lightly. They stared at each other silently for a while, neither having a word to say. After a moment, Dylan cleared his throat, his hands running through his thick, strands of hair.

Athena rose from her bed with a dulling pain in her heart, one she tried so much to ignore but kept coming back. Everything about her was slowly succumbing to the absence of the annoying footman. She tried not to think too much of him but kept failing miserably every single time. She even snapped at Damien when he tried to make a joke about Alex's absence. She didn't want to be his mate but that didn't give anyone the right to talk carelessly about him in her presence.

How did it get there? Rain stared down at the rose she had found by her bedside the second the woke up. The scent drifting in the air and causing her to smile. It reminded her of her time in the cabin and Rain didn’t realize how much she missed waking up to the comforting scent of roses until this one was brought to her. Rain silently wondered with a smile, would they still let her go back to the cabin or did Alexander plan to have her stay in the mansion permanently?
