Audiobook Read Along Novels & Stories

I wish I had enough money for a phone and cordless headphones because it would be nice to fill some of this time with audio books. Maddie and I visit the public library every single Saturday morning. We check out the maximum number of books that we’re allowed, and we finish most of them before the next visit. We are both speed readers and enjoy learning as much as we can on almost any subject. But I can’t read on the job, so despite the library having free books on audio, most of my day is spent in silence.

We say our goodbyes and I toss my phone onto the couch next to me, looking around the room. It's quiet when Santos has the kids. Almost too quiet. And there's nothing to do. I've deep cleaned the entire apartment from top to bottom. I've done four loads of laundry and put it all away. I even threw dinner in the crockpot already, so my regular chores are done. I tap my fingers on my leg and the Kindle shoved between couch cushions catches my eye. Ooh. I could read for a bit. What is the name of that author I like? "So, do you still want to hear the story? Or are you too old for the pictures?" I didn't even get to see what the picture was like; I was too focused on Emma's presence. But I nod. "Go ahead. We'll see if this is any good." Smiling, Emma flips the book to the first page. I wiggle a bit to get comfortable and put a pillow behind my lower back. Emma waits for me to relax and close my eyes before starting to read, and she speaks softly for me. Her voice flows into my ears, but I barely hear her words. My focus is on the way her tone changes with different characters, the way her voice rises and falls, the way she chuckles breathily when she reads something amusing. She sounds divine to me.

I found out that reading helped me to soothe the voice in my head like Alex was someone that had also enjoyed reading or he had started enjoying it from the first time I read a book. Little by little, he would calm down every time I read a book. By the time I would get to the ending part, the voice would have been completely calm and anticipating the end of the book we were going through. After I found out the trick, most often, I always make sure to have a book in hand to help with the torment.

In the middle of drowning in my book I felt a presence opposite me and heard the sound of chair screeching and within a half minute I heard a rough male voice " Hey there! iam watching you from the last one hour reading that book without moving.so,I came here to check that you are dead or so" He said laughter in his voice.
