He coughed as a breath wheezed out of him and I was glad of it, he had been unable to fight back, my rage so fast and fierce; and he would pay for what he did. I kicked the angel over, his head lolling to the side, bloodied face now covered in dirt. The biggest insult to an angel was to take their wings, and I had already done that to one, why not make it two? I leapt onto his back, crouching low allowing my full weight to be felt. Grasping the root of one wing I slowly pulled backward, my pressure steady; until I saw the skin holding it to his back stretch to its limit. Leaning forward I bit the delicate flesh, ripping into it with my teeth. Blood flooded into my mouth and I spat the tissue

Warrior Angels were created to punish and restore peace, and I was doing just that. Later on my way back, I found a book. I took it with me back to heaven. I kept it aside and forgot about it for a while. One day I accidentally came across the book, it was opened wide to a page. I read the words on the page out loud. It turned out to be a spell that will leave all my fellow Angels in a sleep-like state. I don't know about it then, but later I found out that it is a dark spell to control others. Of setting innocent lives against one another all because two men in suits have a difference of opinion. But this book is interesting. It’s about the original angel war. A warm breeze flows through the room. Tugging my hair and tumbling the pages. The wind curls around me when it lands on a page of a warrior. And angel above the rest. An angel that resembles my mother. Although his is much more built and has a stone cold expression on his face, the features are so similar to hers. ‘Train. Fight. Battle. Win.’ The wind whispers into my ear like a lovers breath fanning my cheek. ‘He dragged you into this. Drag him out of it.’

A powerful one. "Is that...?" Verenya whispered. I watched the falling light twist and spin toward the earth, glowing with heat and glory and sorrow. Feathers burned to gold. Grace unraveling in a firestorm. A fallen angel. Falling... not randomly. Falling toward Seralyn Keep. I smiled slowly and glanced at my sister goddess. "Interesting," I murmured. "Another piece on the board." Verenya arched a brow. "Yours?" "Oh no," I said, smirking. "I haven't touched the angels in centuries. This one's falling by choice."

My veins pumped with venom so thick I felt it would kill me. “And then I found something.” I inhaled raggedly. “With Daniel, I found someone who wanted me. Who chose me.
