The Lullaby of Wolfbane
Adrian exhales slowly, like he’s bracing.
And then he shifts.
It isn’t loud like some shifts are. It isn’t theatrical.
It’s brutal, controlled power, the snap and roll of bone, the ripple of muscle, fur spilling over skin like night flooding in.
A massive black wolf stands where the prince was.
Not just black, glossy, ink, dark, catching faint moonlight like polished obsidian. His shoulders are enormous, his head broad, his eyes a bright green that look almost unreal against the darkness.
He’s bigger than Nate’s wolf.
