Betrayed on the wedding day
Adrian’s words sounded sincere, but the image of what she saw lingered too vividly—Leviana’s hopeful gaze, and Adrian not rejecting her immediately.
“I don’t know what to believe anymore,” Deviana whispered, her voice breaking. “I’ve been betrayed too many times. I thought you were different, Adrian. I thought you’d choose me without hesitation.”
Adrian reached for her hand again. “I choose you. Always you, Deviana.”
Deviana shook her head, her eyes soft yet pained. “If that’s true, then prove it. Don’t just say it.”
She turned and walked away, leaving Adrian frozen in the corridor, his heart tearing apart inside him.
