It's way to convoluted to keep re-explaining. And just as I finished the sentence, Elijah and his people walked through the doors. Immediately when my eyes laid on one of the ladies, did I feel a strange connection. When I finally got a good look at her, I noticed she was blind. Instantly I felt my eyes glow. At the same time, so did the blind lady's, Elijah's, and Psyren's. I looked over and noticed a book being held in one of the men, that came with Elijah, hands. It, too, shined brightly. Gasp and murmurs erupted in the room. The blind lady took a step towards me, smiling.

The hooves of our horses awaken some of the people of my pack, causing them to peek out their windows and doors to see what the commotion is about. Before long, we reach the courtyard of the palace and begin to dismount. After a quick debriefing, I release the men to go home to get some rest. Turning, I focus on the woman at my side and find myself floored. Her hood has fallen back to reveal raven hair, the light of dawn causes rainbows to shimmer in the long strands. Her beauty takes my breath away, but that isn’t what truly floors me. Her eyes, her eyes are a dull shadow violet. She’s blind.

Again she was out. The next time she woke up, it was in a big room, to beeping. A slow ache was all over her body, but she felt light. Happy? She couldn't follow a train of thought but she did know one thing, she still couldn't see from her right eye. Thought could she? It was dark, but she could sense specks of light coming through from somewhere. She raised her hands to touch her face and felt something. Cotton? Paper? Something was on it to hide her vision. “Kyle, she is up!” she heard Madison say.

Chloe Jane My eyelids flutter open, and a mild ache throbs behind them. Sunlight streams through the window, casting a warm glow across the room. How long have I slept? It feels like ages since I— Wait… I sit up and blink again, frowning at what I’m seeing because… I’m blind! I should not be seeing the morning light filtering through the bedroom window! Immediately, I leap out of the bed and look around the room, but then the door slams open and Ruin stands there with wide eyes. He looks at me, his worried expression softening as he smiles at me and it takes my breath away.

“We are here,” Drake remarked, leading her into the biggest room in the mansion. Unfortunately, Luna couldn’t notice that though. “I’ll show you around,” he smiled softly, offering his hand to her. For a moment, it felt strange for him to offer a hand. ‘Does he know my weakness?’ she thought, and a series of quivers ran under her skin. She couldn’t even imagine what would happen if someone discovered that she was blind. “I’ll walk by myself. Thank you,” Luna hesitated. She really didn’t want to get caught in her act.

I was my sister now. He dragged the body to the kitchen. Water ran. A suitcase zipper opened. I kept my eyes on the wall. Counted cracks. Seven up. Three across. The water stopped. Footsteps came back. Then he turned off the lights. Darkness. My real eyes screamed for light, but the white lenses blocked everything. I breathed slow. In. Out. A phone flashlight clicked on. Beam straight into my eyes. I didn't blink. Ten seconds. Twenty. My eyes burned behind the plastic, but my face stayed empty. Bored. *Blind.*

Clang! The railing shook violently. It was bending and on the verge of breaking. Just as disaster loomed, my engine finally roared to life. I slammed the gas pedal, and the car dashed forward, breaking free from the crushing pressure. Upon seeing this, Gabriel’s face twisted with panic. He stomped the brake repeatedly before finally managing to stop his car. However, as his wheels screeched to a halt, he ran over a shard of broken glass that flew up and embedded itself deep in my thigh. I gritted my teeth as pain shot through me.

My legs gave out from underneath me, I tried to brace myself for impact against the ground, but instead my weak body was pulled into strong arms. I blinked, trying to clear the blurriness in my eyes again, the dark spots started clouding my vision, but before it fully had a chance to pull me in, I was met with deep seafoam eyes that shone with so much intensity, “I have you.." *** This chapter wasn't the best, my apologies, next chapter will be better I promise. There are days when I wonder what the world around me looks like, what the prey I eat looks like, I even wonder what my mate looks like but I'll never ask because I know that although I am blind and most likely odd looking I will never stand alone. For I am blinded but not deaf, I am blinded but not alone, I am blinded and I will always have a place within this world.

Whatever Alexander had done to me, whatever holes existed in my memory, started there. He thought my blindness made me his. He thought his secrets were safe. He was wrong. I turned my face toward the window, letting the dim outline of the city bleed through the curtains. Let him think that. For now, I would play his perfect little miracle. Blind. Grateful. His. Until I wasn’t. And when I finally opened my eyes for him— I’d make sure the first thing he saw… was everything he built collapsing— with me at the center of it.
