Her eyes were locked on the pyramid, her glance sharp and focused, as if waiting for something out of the ordinary to move. “Path?” she asked. My father pointed towards a barely visible dip in the terrain, the bob in the throat moving as he didn't look away, “There. The blind spot. Twelve-second window between sweeps.” “Twelve?” Alexei repeated. “Generous.” “It used to be eight.” He confessed. “That does not help.” He frowned. I ignored them, and focused on the situation. “On my mark,” I said under my breath, in hopes of calming every aching nerves.

When he tried to comfort me, I rejected him, "Stop pretending! I don't want to hear it!" He opened his mouth but couldn't say a word, just staring at me blankly. His eyes showed rare regret, but I had no interest in forgiving him. Nathan's gaze shifted from my hardened profile to my leg. He suddenly frowned, "Your leg... it's bleeding badly." The left leg of my pants was stained with an alarming patch of red. Blood was dripping down my calf onto the car mat, a horrifying sight. "Thanks to you, this leg might be ruined forever."

"Once you board the cruise, you need to follow the rules, Mr. Rodney. This time, we severed your tendons just to teach you a lesson." Mr. Rodney continued to scream at the top of his lungs as he got dragged out of the room. But before leaving, he turned to glare at me with bloodshot eyes. "That woman can see! She did it on purpose! She definitely did it on purpose! She's not blind at all!"

Chapter 1: Into the Woods "In the wilderness, my soul strums to the rhythm of uncured bliss." THIRD PERSON'S POV Blurry Vision of the place, that's the first thing she saw. She keeps on blinking her eyes until the vision was clear. At first, the darkness welcomes her and the eerie feeling of the surroundings. An eleven-year-old white-haired girl loses her way back home. The cold gush of the wind made her a little shiver, but she handles it well, due to her unique existence.

But where he didn’t account for. A narrow gap between panels. Barely visible. Barely accessible. But enough. I force my way through. Ignoring the scrape of metal against my arm. Ignoring the resistance. Because pain doesn’t matter. Not right now. On the other side— Darkness. Complete. Silent. Different. I stop. Listen. Nothing. Good. This is outside his immediate control. A blind spot. Every system has one. And I just found his. “Leon…” his voice comes again.

The massive explosion swallowed the entire car in an instant as thick smoke billowed straight into the sky. Screams of panic erupted from the crowd. I stood in the stands, watching as the blazing fire devoured everything. The flickering flames reflected in my eyes. I thought to myself, "You've won the bet, Evelyn. Now, you don't need to pretend to be blind anymore." … Third-Person POV When Evelyn woke up, she was in a hospital ward. She forced her eyes open, only to be met with a stark white ceiling.

— Elena sat at the long conference table. She exhaled softly, pressing her fingers against her temple as a dull ache pulsed behind her eyes. Then, a wave of dizziness washed over her. Elena blinked, gripping the edge of the table as her vision blurred for a fleeting moment. She shook her head. It was nothing, she just needed to focus. But the feeling didn’t fade. Suddenly, the world around her tilted before everything went dark. — Elena’s heavy eyelids fluttered open. For a moment, her vision was blurry, and her head throbbed faintly.

My vision flickered and spots of black clouded my sight, but I did not know why. It could not be grief, could it? That would be too humiliating. 'Lana Branch, you really misjudged him, didn't you?'

I saw my life fading before my eyes. Soon, I began gulping down chemical-induced water. It tasted weird and made me want to throw up. Then the water started burning my eyes. I'm going to be blind. I panicked. I am actually fucking going to be blind at fifteen. It seemed like forever had passed with me doing whatever humiliating thing my brain cooked up in that water until I had a deep splash from a distance and then I was grabbed by two strong arms. "Hey, breathe, breathe." Chima's voice sounded from somewhere in my head. "I have you, breathe." He cooed, still holding onto me.
