I scrubbed at my skin with a cloth, trying to get clean. But no matter how hard I scrubbed, I could still feel it. Still see it. Still smell the copper tang of it. The water around me turned rusty. I drained it, filled it again. Washed my hair three times. Scrubbed until my skin was raw.
