Later, in the backseat, I stare at my phone, heart hammering as I read the headline from 'The Campus Scoop': ‘Monroe’s Millions Can’t Buy Loyalty: Heiress Dumped for Boyfriend’s Secret Gay Affair.’ Oh. My. God. My grip tightens on the phone. "Fuck!"

“I’ve worked for you long enough to read the pauses.” Naomi smirked. “Maybe you should be the one making the closing arguments.” Sandra tilted her head with a knowing grin. “Isn’t that what you’re already doing? Piece by piece… Secrets Unfold, right?” Naomi blinked. “You remember the name?” “Hard to forget when it’s what you’re living.” Naomi picked up a glass and stared into it like it held some kind of answer. This call must be important ,I said to my self. James was the only one who knew where I was and if he placed a call to me,then something important might had really come up.

While talking to them, a scary thought crossed my mind: what if Peter was the bad guy? I gave the police all the clues, and they rushed out to find her because they knew she could be in danger. A week went by, and the police found a secret and creepy circus that was not supposed to be there. There was Sadie. It turned out that Peter was the boss of that strange circus. He would trick people who looked different into joining his circus and make them act like animals in his shows. Sadie was one of the people he had tricked. She did not have family or friends in the city.

Stamped into the cover was a symbol: an eye inside a triangle, surrounded by curling, intricate lines that almost seemed alive. “What is this?” Leila asked, keeping her voice steady. Christina gave her a look that said she was either testing her or trying to decide how much to say. “This,” she said at last, “is why you’ve been dodging mustard jackets and cleaning up after dead archaeologists.” Leila’s heart skipped a beat. She sat down, sliding the book toward her. It was heavier than it looked, its weight a promise of bad news. “Oh my! Explain,” she said, flipping it open.

“I love it!” “There’s more,” I said, unable to contain my smile. “Thea, you should come check out this one book.” Thea followed my gesture to an antique-looking book that was sticking ever so slightly out from the others. The spine read “The Secret Garden”. She stared at it, clearly confused. “Go ahead,” Elijah said with a grin. “Pull the book out and tell us what it’s about.” She frowned, clearly wondering why we were telling her to read old books when she just wanted to run around and play, but obliged. However, the book didn’t fully come out of the shelf—it extended halfway, and then a loud click came from behind it.

My breath caught, my chest tightening as I clutched at it with a trembling hand. "Oh my god…" The words barely escaped me, a whisper of awe and terror. This wasn’t just any book. I could feel it—the weight of power humming through the air around it. This book… it held the truth, the very secrets of the Alpha Seal. Dorian had been right all along. Just as my fingers brushed the edge of the book, it stirred to life on its own. The heavy pages flipped wildly, faster than I could stop them, until they slammed to a sudden halt, almost as if the book itself had chosen what I needed to see.

He chuckled, "Were you talking to Mike? Did you spill our secret?" Luke was undeniably striking. At school, he was an iceberg, cold and untouchable. But in private, he was warm and almost clingy. In the past, I'd have melted into his arms, blushing. Now I just stepped back, creating distance. "Didn't you want to keep us hidden?" I muttered. His eyes flickered as he caught the edge of my tone. Still, he pressed on with the question that always lingered. "You know we can't go public."

He says. I sigh and look back at the books, then see a smaller one tucked between two other ones. I pull it out. ‘The secret society.’ By Albert Windshion. I look up at Issac and he grabs the book from me. “I haven’t seen this one yet. But it might not be about the golden wolf.” He says, and I nod, but for some reason know that’s not the case. He opens the book and reads a few pages, then smiles. “I think this might be something.” He says and I smile. Gunner grunts, “We really need to find this guy.” I nod in agreement.

This was my haven, a secret space where no one could find me—away from everything, from the pressures of my role, from the expectations that weighed on me. In my hands, I held the book I had stolen from the secret library. It was bound in dark leather, and its pages crackled with age. I had barely managed to slip it from its hidden resting place without anyone noticing, and now I was finally going to read it. The title was unassuming, but the stories it held, the knowledge it promised, stirred something deep within me.
