As the afternoon light filters in, I finally manage to rise, my body aching as if it’s been hit by a train. I groan, rolling over to find myself face to face with Braden’s side, his ribs rising and falling with each breath, and my eyes drift to his birthmark. It an unusal mark and I have never seen it at this angle before. Up close, it looks more like… teeth marks. The color is darker red nearly purple, almost angry, and the outline is distinct, as if something once sank into his skin and left a permanent reminder. My finger traces it lightly, feeling a subtle indentation, and I swear it matches the shape of a bite.

The skin surrounding the bite is deeply bruised with dark purple and blue colors, and the two distinct puncture marks are fully sealed but still look incredibly sensitive to the touch. Seth unscrews the cap of the saline bottle and pours a small amount of the cold liquid onto a clean cotton pad. He presses the damp cotton directly against the bruised skin to clean away any remaining dried blood, and Beau lets out a very soft, involuntary whimper at the sudden sting of the sterile solution. Seth immediately slows his movements down, and he leans his face close to Beau's ear to speak in a deeply soothing tone while he continues to clean the area.

My feet touched the cold floor and I stood up, and that’s when I felt it. The inside of my right thigh burned. I looked down, the mark was still there. It is still visible, but no longer bleeding wind. I stare at my shoulder in horror.

SMACK! Red, swollen welts had erupted across my skin, each one throbbing with pain. My bones ached from the countless areas where they had puffed up, and I couldn't even begin to fathom how many bruises had formed. The sight of my body was a gruesome one, and I couldn't help but wonder if there was also a slight, unnoticed trickle of blood seeping out from my battered body.

His blood gushes into my mouth, all over my face, and down my neck. Bram strikes me in the side of the head, and I unclench my jaw, allowing him to pull away, but leaving behind a chunk of his skin between my teeth. I quickly spit it out, trying to regain focus as I push myself to sit up. I watch him stumble backwards to the edge of the bed, clamping his hands over the wound that is spraying blood like a sprinkler.

I pushed it through his skin as Aaron gasped. I did not think it would hurt him but I guess he was a human after all. I pulled the syringe before the blood was filling the syringe. It was blueish red that gave the name of blue blood. It was not like abalone but it was considered blue. “Now, that’s settled. Time for the payment of my sample,” he said before I was putting my hands on his chest. I did not move it but somehow it was moving on their own.

His bushy brows and tightly sealed mouth seem to repeat to me, Cauterize, restore blood. It doesn't come out in a stream this time. But it almost looked like the small tip of a red tongue stickin’ out. Blood, not brick. And the skin around them looked swollen and dark and burned. And kinda fucked and round. Like a bubble. Like the feeling in his knees. He pressed it with his finger.
