Elaine looked up and glanced over her shoulder to watch the foreign customer complaining to the bar manager who was also trying his best to give explanations over and over again. AS SOON as Tan arrived at the modern contemporary bar around Makati Avenue, he immediately looked for a spot where he could park his car. This place was considered as his and his brother's hideout every time he would come home from America. The bar has a luxurious interior design. Aside from that, they played classical and mellow music every past midnight.

The light was dim and the ground was floored in shady dark wood. The bar had a surprising purple tinge to it but everything else was in this dark brown color… like the library. Instead of stools that would normally be arranged linearly along the fancy bar top, sofas lined the shorter-than-normal bar top on both sides along with some revolving leather chairs. It’s not every day you find sofas in a bar and the bar top was made for the comfort of anyone sitting on them while drinking. The glass case behind the sofas and shiny bar top was… wow. My eyes dug through so many exquisite and exotic whiskeys, vodka, and an abundance of tequila that were just as expensive as my mom’s gold jewelry.

She hurries to keep pace with me. Maybe there are other clubs, but this one has a good vibe and a good group of people that I’ve already started to sort through. Who knows what the clientele of the other places might look like? This is as good a spot as any. Cynthia flags the bartender down. “Two margarita on the rocks, and two extra shots. All top shelf tequila please.” The bartender grabs an expensive looking bottle off the shelf and shows Cynthia. This one flashed with modern designs with a dim-lit interior that was perfect for New Yorkers’ vibe. I smiled shyly. “Yes, a Phoenix’s princess, please,” I swore his lips curled into a smile, then nodded and mixed my drinks. He expertly mixed it as if he could do even his eyes were closed. “You don’t come here often, do you?”

For a moment, I consider grabbing another one, letting the bubbles and the noise and the chaos wash over me again. CEO CCI thinks he's got a poker face, but I'm onto him. A sly grin spreads across my face as I make my way over to the bar. “Tequila shots,” I say, my voice low and husky, as I catch the bartender's eye. “Make it a double.” The bartender raises an eyebrow, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. “You sure about that?”

She asked in astonishment which only caused him to grin. "And your name- " he continued, "Tequila." He gave her a smile, taking a swig of the alcohol beside her, slunged his bags over his shoulders, and walked into the dark. Not for once looking back at the befuddled girl with the expression of someone who had seen a lunatic. •••• It was two in the night or rather mid morning but the summary was that everywhere was so dead silent and covered in a cloud of thick darkness and asides the noise of creepy insects and whatever flew at night, there was the desperate knock hitting the windows of Yara.

She hefts it easily, but once it’s on the bar top, she furrows her brow a little and her hand goes to her back.
