Life isn't exactly a bed of roses, i was tired of running and at the same time tired of staying. It is officially two weeks since Daniel and i moved into this apartment, it isn't really in a good shape but there is nothing i can do about that. I turned on the TV only to see him being interviewed. He forgot everything about me and our son, he forgot who we are and how much we mean to each other and most importantly he forgot about the love we once shared, it wasn't his fault but i can't help but blame him for what happened. He wasn't supposed to go there but he did anyway and now he will never remember who i am, who Daniel is and what we once mean to each other. I quickly turned it off before

At that moment, I realized that nine whole years of unwavering devotion had gone to waste. Wanting to leave this revolting mansion as soon as possible, I packed faster and contacted a moving company. … The next morning, before the movers arrived, Harold's parents arrived home, even though they were meant to be vacationing overseas. The moment Derek and Diana walked in, they saw how much thinner and more haggard I had become. They pulled me into their arms, holding back tears. "It's all his fault. He refused to listen to us and insisted on test tube babies. You've suffered so much… If he dares to mistreat you in the future, we won't ever forgive him!"

I broke down, and she showed up, pulling me back like she had done it a hundred times before. I didn't need that anymore. A cold chill seeped through me, and I started to shake. "Let go. It sounded like she couldn't stand to lose me, but I knew the truth. That wasn't love. It was pity. I ran out of strength and lay still, staring up at the ceiling.

All at once. "My best friend gave it to me." Quiet. Real. "Back when I was in the orphanage. So he could find me later." Damien went still. Not the careful, measured stillness from before. Something harder. Something that happened to him rather than something he chose. His eyes shifted red. "Him." One word. The temperature in the room dropped three degrees. "He gave you that." Not a question. His jaw worked once. "And you've been wearing it." His eyes cut to hers. "You don't wear what another man gives you. You're mine. What's on your body is mine. What touches your skin is mine."

"The car accident two years ago… it was staged, wasn't it? You pretended to protect me so I would believe you were injured. And just like you expected, I fell for it. For two years, guilt ate away at me. I worked myself to the bone taking care of you. I did everything you asked. And all that time, you were just playing with me." I couldn't describe the feelings I was experiencing now. There was only emptiness in my chest as I looked at him quietly. "So, you figured it all out," he said, stumbling over his words. The last trace of hope in his eyes faded. He wanted to say more to change my mind, but when he met my unwavering gaze, the words died in his throat. It left a bitter taste in his mou
