Clara felt her hair drop down and yawned. “I did well,” she said sleepily. “I should celebrate, but I want to sleep.” She took out her phone with tired hands and watched the video she had filmed. She had captured the unfolding scene perfectly. She would edit it in the morning and post it on her social media accounts. Of course, she was going to tag the three bullies to make sure it was clear who had fallen into the fountain. Caiden got up and retrieved a pack of makeup remover wipes for her. Clara accepted the pack and wiped all her makeup off. The demon took the used wipes and put them in the trash for her.

No one can do that except Killian Kelly from Quarry Pack and the ferals from the Last Pack, though. The Claws found out, and they’ve been after Clay to apprentice with them. He should. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime offer, a huge step up in rank. He’d be stupid not to do it. Three meals a day instead of two, and eventually, a room of his own in the Claws’ bunkhouse.

He explained to his assistant that Lorraine had left earlier, and he was hoping to catch her at the airport before her flight took off. ANYTA'S POV “Hold on, I'm coming,” I called out as I hurried towards the door, praying the doorbell hadn't woken my very energetic toddler. When I opened the door, Clay leaned one shoulder against the frame, his charming grey eyes warm with amusement. He shook his dark hair out of his face and beamed at me as he raised his hands, holding two paper bags. “Hi, I brought lunch.” A pleased smile tugged at my lips as I opened the door wider and stepped aside so he could enter.

Aura's parents looked at Clay’s presence with furrowed brows, puzzled by the arrival of a stranger at their house so early in the morning. "Excuse me, who are you? And what is your purpose for coming here?" Mommy Erika asked, making Clay realize that he hadn't introduced himself! "Ah, forgive my impudence for interrupting your time, Aunt and Uncle. I'm Clay Clinton. And my purpose for coming here is to inquire some things about Aura." Clay's response made Mommy Erika and Daddy Daniel exchange glances. "Aura? What's wrong with Aura?" Clay tried to play his role well, hoping that Aura's parents could provide some clues. But unfortunately, the result was a big zero! Aura's parents were unwillin
