Coughing Up Blood After Running Novels & Stories

If I collapsed in front of everyone there would be an uproar. Enduring the ever growing pain, I rushed out the kitchen without sparing anyone a glance. When I was sure I was away from scrutiny, I staggered, using the wall as a guide as I entered into the suite. I went to the bedroom, inhaling the sheets that had Vie's scent. Slowly, my breathing calmed, the pain subsiding. I opened my palms once more. And sure enough the blood was still there. How could I cough out blood? What's happening?

With rapid breathing I could expand my lungs and my body makes extra RBC to accommodate it. This was something I made myself do it after hard training. This give me extra boost and vitality as my muscles gets the extra oxygen. I sprinted towards her one more time and this time I shortened the distance between us but before I could reach for her heart, she raised her hand in air and chocked me without actually touching me. I struggled for air as she raised her right hand more. I found myself leaving the ground. The veins of my neck turned blue as I coughed struggling to wriggle from her grasp.

She was standing upright, but her eyes became blurry. She took a few deep breaths and steadied herself. Heather tried to adjust her breathing method to calm herself, but in the process, she felt worse, making her cough and spit a mouthful of blood. Her blood was a dark red, looking like it contained a tinge of black. “Ms. Riggs!” Chump came rushing in as he had just returned from getting the others to prepare the car. He wanted to check with Heather on when they should leave but walked in on her spitting blood.

I didn’t get to think much more before something cold settled in my stomach and the hairs on my arms stood up. I didn’t hear their footsteps ahead of me anymore. What the— “Mel… I think something’s strange he—” My voice cracked mid-sentence as a violent cough tore up my throat. I doubled over, coughing again, harder this time but a warm metallic taste coated my tongue. Blood. I was coughing blood. Why? I don’t eat peanuts, so this shouldn’t... “Rosa.” My mind reached for her immediately, my pulse spiking. “Rosa, something’s wrong,”

"My stomach, it hurts..." Nakoa gasps, hopping onto her feet. "What's going on?" Warmth suddenly floods my throat, tasting metallic before I cough it onto the ground, unable to control it. Looking down in horror, I see blood staining the gravel, now dripping down my chin. When I look up at Clea and Nakoa, their eyes are wide and their mouths are hanging open, as horrified and disgusted by the image of me coughing blood onto my feet.

I pressed my palms against the tile and dropped my head. The cough came out of nowhere. It tore through my chest, violent and unexpected, doubling me over. I braced myself against the wall as another followed—and another—until something wet and metallic flooded my mouth. I looked down at my palm and saw blood. Lots of it. "Bloody hell," I whispered. I stayed there until the coughing stopped. Until I could breathe again. Until I'd washed the last of it down the drain. Then I stepped out, dried off, put on some clothes, found my pills, and swallowed them without water.

I'd never run this fast in my life. Still, when I reached the sink, nothing came up. After a bout of dry heaving, I started coughing. It was the kind of cough that made it feel like my lungs were about to be ripped out of my chest. It was unbearable. Eventually, I braced myself against the counter. I stared at the bloodstains in the sink, my vision darkening. After a moment, I looked at my haggard reflection in the mirror, finally feeling like someone on the verge of death.

My hand flew to cover my mouth, but the coughing didn't stop. I dragged myself to the bathroom and locked the door. I slid down the door and leaned against it. I clutched onto my chest as the pain increased. Tears kept rolling down my face. Seconds turned into minutes, and slowly the cough reduced, but that was after I coughed out blood. I looked at the crimson liquid that splattered on my palms. My breathing was shallow, and my pulse was weak. What was that for? A momentary moment of victory? Yes. It felt good.

The ground seemed to rattle beneath my weight, sending a small cloud of sand and dry leaves heaving up around me. A sharp, violent spasm hit my chest. My lungs burned like open flames as I coughed uncontrollably, gasping for air that wouldn't come. A warm, thick liquid rolled freely from my lips, dropping down my chin and falling onto the dark green grass below, staining the blades a deep, horrific red. The overwhelming, copper taste of blood filled my entire mouth. I coughed again, groaning as I pushed myself up onto my elbows. My trembling hand reached up, wiping the trail of dark blood that slid down my chin and lower lip.

I look away rapidly and suddenly; My stomach begins to sting and my head begins to pound. I suddenly feel warm liquid escape my nose. Please tell me I'm not bleeding through my nose again!. I draw my fingers up and there, my fingers get coated with the one thing I used to be okay with but now terrifies me. My blood!. Being a runner, I sustained alot of minor injuries hence seeing my blood was nothing new. But now, my constant bleeding is worrisome. I quickly wipe off the blood. I look up again and agrh!! Desmond saw that too. He's watching. Why on earth is he paying so much attention!?. Its getting creepy.
