Gianni's POV I waited patiently for hours for Damian's personal assistant to show up at the dress shop, I didn't know her by face or anything, I was tired of waiting so I brought out my phone and dialed Damian's number. "Damian speaking, please who is on the line?" Damian's voice asked from the other side of the phone. "It's Gianni," I replied. "Who is that? How can I help you?" Damian asked I rolled my eyes, what does he mean he doesn't know his wife's name?

All this while, the Damian in question remained quiet, his face still hidden under the hoodie. “I told you I could handle this, didn't I?” he asked with gritted teeth, feeling betrayed. “It didn't seem like you could. We have to do what's best for us.” the English replied and flashed him an annoying smile. Romano knew he was trying to annoy him but he didn't budge. “Nice to meet you, Damian. I'm the famous Romano Rossi you must have been hearing of.” Romano said, extending his hand for his handshake while feeding his ego.

Her hand trembled as she placed it in mine, and I felt the rapid flutter of her pulse against my fingers. Good. She should be terrified. "Mr. Cavalieri," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "Please, call me Damian." My smile was sharp enough to cut glass. "I feel like we're going to become very well acquainted." Antonio beamed, apparently interpreting our exchange as the beginning of a delightful friendship rather than the dangerous game it actually was.
