I asked as though I didn't already know who, but we needed his testimony if we were going to nail Derek. Tension grew in the air as everyone went silent as they awaited Morgan’s reply, he looked as though he was giving it a thought and was convinced he was now cornered, then, slowly, Morgan looked around the whole courtroom across every face. His gaze landed on Derek and he kept his eyes on him for a while before turning to look at me. “No one helped me!” he stated firmly and I wanted to pounce on him and coerce the answer out of him, but I knew that was impossible.

“As soon as he says it, I’m wet.” “I like it too,” Morgan stated. “What’s happening with you and Dutton?” I asked Morgan. “Well,” Morgan blushed. “We actually had sex for the first time last night.” I squealed, and the boys looked over at me. “Nothing to see here,” Kimmy yelled. “How was it?” I queried. “Amazing, he was so loving and giving,” Morgan said dreamily. “It was like we made a special connection.” I crossed the hot tub and hugged Morgan. “I’m so completely happy for you two. Dutton seems like such a nice guy.”

He had turned into a dark, dangerous and calculating being. Furthermore, he grabbed the man by the collar and made him kneel on the floor in front of him. The man tried to wage himself with his hand, placing them on the ground in front of him so to be able to balance well. Without skipping a beat, Derek put his foot on both his hands, the hands that touched just her shoulders, and he stood down on them, as if he wanted to break them, so he won'tbe able to use the hands again to touch another shoulder.

“I came to surprise Xavier, but it seems I’m the one surprised.” I blinked, still catching my breath. Derek, Xavier’s best friend and the company's managing director, had vanished for months after his father’s passing. U wasn't expecting to see him anytime soon, much less now. He stepped forward with a grin as he offered me his hand. “Morgana.” He said with exaggerated cheer. “Have you been treated nicely so far?” I nodded mutely, still recovering. “Good,” He beamed. Then he clapped Xavier’s shoulder. “I’ll be waiting in your office, boss man. Try not to get too... distracted.”

He smelled like a piece of shit already. She could see it in the way his shoulders slumped and in the way his eyes darkened whenever Elise’s name was spoken. She had been watching him from the shadows, waiting for the perfect to let out her pawn. As Derek walked past, Morgana couldn't help but swallowed hard. He was unraveling beautifully and it was a sight for her to watch. Although her heart leaned towards Damon, she couldn't wanting Derek too. Morgana slipped inside his chambers with practiced ease. She moved quietly and deliberately, as though she had every right to be there.

He reached out his hands and picked up the phone, swiped the screen to answer, and pressed the speaker button. Ethan's worried voice came through the phone: “Alexa, thank God you finally picked up; I was so worried. Where did you run off to? I was just about to call Major Randy after checking the CCTV footage. Are you still in the underground club?” At the other end of the phone, Ethan, who had said everything in one breath, realized there was no response and checked the screen to see if the call was still connected. Megan stood near the window, her attention drifting lazily over the grounds outside. Both of them turned when Decker entered. And both of them felt it. The shift. Morgan’s eyes sharpened immediately. “That didn’t take long,” he said. Decker closed the door behind him with a soft click. “No.” Morgan leaned back slightly, studying him. “Something happened.” Decker didn’t sit. Didn’t offer pleasantries. “Silver Claw.” Megan’s head turned. Morgan’s expression didn’t change immediately but something in his posture tightened. “…what about them.”

Derek bowed and walked out. I didn’t count on him finding out much. He wasn’t Simon. My former Beta had an eye for details that everyone else missed. He paid attention and knew how to stay in the shadows, unnoticed. Derek… wasn’t that. He was one of my best soldiers, but not a match for my old friend. The same way Morgan wasn’t a match for Jenn. No matter how much I’d tried to convince myself she was.
