She said to herself trying to divert her thoughts. ‘It’s as if you are not one,’ her wolf said. Adira just rolled her eyes at her. Indeed, even though they drink blood for them, the urge to drink some blood was something that they can control. They can survive with anything. And as for blood, they drink only on full moon night that too from their own hunt. But for Vampires, it’s their food. It’s necessary for them to drink blood at least once a day. ‘I am sleeping,’ she said to her wolf.

If he has been drinking from Emma all these years normal human blood would be fine but he would have to have some werewolf blood regularly or his body would go into withdrawals and no matter how much human blood, he drank he would deteriorate until he was close to death. It is the same for werewolves that use vampire blood on a regular basis, as long as they continue to receive small amounts they can live without consequences but as soon as a long-term user stops using, it slowly kills them as their body and their blood itself looks for the containments it needs to survive.

Then she connected her mouth to its neck again. She was so thirsty, like she had been deprived for years. Warm blood coated her mouth and throat, and she moaned once more. It was so delicious. The animal's blood felt never-ending. Devan silently watched as she drank like a vampire. It was strange for her to do so. Strange for their werewolf kind. He did recall her wolf saying she would drink the blood of their catch, but he didn't take it seriously enough to believe it.
