I don’t think I can go now, I don’t think I can leave her.”

Kirian Luna threw one of her fries at me. It hit my nose and dunk straight to the glass of iced tea I’m sipping. “The heck?” I pushed away from the glass and took her yet untouched Slurpee. Lucas is busy consuming his giant burger to care about his girlfriend’s upcoming death. Luna smiled maliciously at me. “You like her. Admit it already.” she probed. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” I sip noisily at the Slurpee intending to annoy her.

But we ain't goin' unless you snap outta this.” When he gets no reaction, he tries patting her face, “Com’on Kas. This shit ain’t funny. Time for you to come back. Quit scaring us. ARIA Luna is wheeled out at exactly seven in the morning. She looks so small on the gurney, a cloth covering her hair, her hand still gripping her blue rabbit like someone is going to take it away from her. “Mummy, don’t let aunty Sonia eat my snacks while I am asleep,” she tells me seriously. I'll make sure Zane doesn't get bored while you're locked upstairs in the dark. " A photographer stepped closer to our table and lifted his camera. Luna pulled away at once, giving the camera a bright, perfect smile as if she had just shared a harmless secret with me. She gave my bare shoulder one last little pinch, then turned on

She sat down and bent deeper into the water, gulping every bit that she could get. ____________________ Back at Northern park. The Luna was missing. The news went around. The Luna wasn't the type to go off at night and not return until the sun was up. The leaders of the park had already selected a search team to go in search of the Luna and they did.
