I took a deep breath and exhaled after a moment. I gulped and grabbed a tissue out of the tissue box lying on the coffee table. I blew my running nose. When I withdrew the tissue away from my nose, I found it red. Blood! I teared up all over again as I felt my heartbeats increasing at an unbelievable speed. Why is there blood in my snot? I jumped in fright when a stabbing sound echoed in the silent house. I was shaking in fear as I stumbled towards the kitchen holding my bleeding nose with the tissue to try and stop more blood from coming out but it was in vain.

The noise was fading but what if it came back? The doctor didn’t push further. He exchanged a few low words with Ethan, too quiet for me to catch. Then he gave me a polite nod and left the room. Breaking the interior thingamabob that made it cold, I shook it. Once it was freezing my fingers off, I placed it against my face. My eyes fluttered shut on a sigh as the cold washed over my inflamed tissues. That was heaven. I leaned forward just in case my nose wanted to start bleeding again. Having that shit slide down my throat was disgusting and not something else I wanted to deal with right now.
