The amount of awareness I had with my current situation is enough to tone down my cries. The cold weather easily dried my tears. It made everything more uncomfortable now that I feel sticky every time I move my face. It’s hard to breathe with my clogged nose. I could breathe through my mouth, but that means the snot can get inside. As much as blowing out all the snot sounds wonderful, that would only make my face stickier. With nothing else to do, I screamed my lungs out. They said you could feel lighter after shouting your frustrations. It did, just a little.

Zoe groaned and packed a punch right on her nose. The impact was so severe on Dale that her head fell backwards and the ready of her body on a swing. You never know how much you miss that feeling until it’s gone.

I take a deep breath, this is going to hurt. I take a hand towel that’s folded next to the basin and bite onto the soft fabric. I take another breath and reset the cartilage in my nose. The pain seared through my face, a cry muffled as I pant heavily into the towel. When I’ve calmed a little I remove the towel and start cleaning the blood. Once I’m clean, my shirt goes back on.

, I hiss ruthlessly. My hand comes up and I grasp the bridge of my nose. Huffing loudly three times through my mouth to boost my courage, I yank the cartilage back to the centre, releasing a piercing cry at the sharp pain that explodes on my face. The pain radiates through my nerves and I could swear I felt it all the way to my fingertips. The motion instantly brought warm tears back to my eyes and I feel as though I had just broken the nose all over again. I hunch over the sink, groaning in agony while biting my lip hard enough to draw blood. With my eyes tightly closed shut, I wait for the worst of the pain to subside.

The man she least wanted to see. She was in too much panic that she was able to push the door, shutting it close with all her might. The loud thudding sound of the wooden floor hitting something else could be heard. Seconds later, It was Shane’s turn to yell in pain. “AGH!” It was a painful shriek followed by a banging sounds on the door. “You! Why are you so violent? Shit! My nose is bleeding!” Shane’s voice sounded wheezy because of nosebleed.

I must have drifted off to sleep because I woke up to my ears popping loudly. "God, that hurt," I groan, holding my palm against my ears, trying to bring pounding to a halt.

I glanced up at him. I sniffed. In that moment, I felt it: my nose was spilling; my eyes were burning. My head was banging. “Oh, god!” I gasped, stepping back. My hand slapped over my nose and mouth, and I pulled it back, staring at my slick palm. “How…,” I breathed. I moved to the sink and spent a full minute with my face under the rushing tap. I blew my nose, rinsed my eyes, my mouth, even splashed the back of my neck.

I inhaled deeply through my nose, trying to calm myself the way my mom had taught me. Count to three, I thought, holding my breath. One…Two…Three.... I rolled across the bed as the boat was suddenly thrown to the side, my head cracking against the wall. My ears were ringing, and I had nearly bitten through my lip. I rolled back over, clutching the side of my head and closing my eyes, groaning in pain.
