I pulled it out and saw it was a book on shadow wraiths. Intrigued, I carried it back to the table. It was already getting dark outside, so I lit a candle, the small flame flickering in the drafty room. There was a large mirror directly opposite me on the wall, and it reflected the light in a way that kept catching the corner of my eye. I found it annoying because I was just getting to an interesting part of the book, but the glare wouldn't stop. I tried to ignore it, focusing on the text about spirits that could mimic human forms.

I replied back as I stretched my hands to remove the painting but it didn’t move, instead it slid and revealed a medium sized box. I took the box out and placed it on the desk. It was an old mahogany box with gold engravings on it. “Sinclair” I opened it carefully and revealed a very thick brown greenish book with about 200 pages made of parchment or something like and had the title written on it with big bold handwriting: “BOOK OF SHADOWS” I smiled happily, I couldn’t believe that I had it in my hands and looked at Kevin who was still anxious saying: “We found it” he nodded his head and was about to speak when we suddenly heard an applause behind us.

Kyra approached it carefully, feeling her heart race in excitement. "Perhaps this is the reason for the disruptions," she mentioned as she gingerly picked up the ancient book from the stand. "If we are able to decode what it says, we could potentially grasp the situation." Upon opening the book, a cold breeze blew through the shrine. The book was packed with mysterious writing and images of sinister ceremonies. Kyra’s eyes grew wider as she perused a section that appeared to detail a procedure for beckoning shadows—an procedure that had the potential to release a fresh surge of darkness.

I then put it back down and I started focusing on the book and nothing else. There were people talking around me, a little heckling because those vampires were assholes, but I blocked them all out.

Its eyes were as red as blood and its presence gives a chilling and horrifying feel. “The two witch kids...have you heard about the prophecy?” The twins looked at each other being puzzled. “Oh, I see, I would be glad that I will be the one to tell your fate...” The evil of shadows made them confused. “...if one of you succeeds to become the ruler of the separate worlds, it will be the end of everything.” As Falla moved her pace to her brother trying to hide at her twin's back, Talon eventually vanished and was nowhere to be found. Kathrena wondered aloud, her fingers stroking the worn edge of the book. “It’s a Book of Shadows,” I said, gently moving my hand past Kath’s and opening it to the first page. Like the newspapers, it smelt old, but it had a herby scent rather than one of cigarettes and coffee. “A what?” Skye asked, cocking his head to one side as he examined it. “Of course,” Kathrena breathed. “Witches.” “You know about them?” I frowned.

It was decorated with ancient magic symbols, long forgotten by all but a select few. Paoli opened the book with one hand and pointed out the section.
