Falling Slowly Eyes That Know Me Novels & Stories

JAMES’ POV. My eyes felt heavy, drowsy and the images in front of me doubled, tripped and the next thing I realized was that I was falling. I dropped to the ground with a thud, supporting myself with my arm strongly planted to the ground. “Shit” I cursed, shaking my head from side to side, trying so hard to stay awake. I could feel my consciousness slipping away gradually but I wasn't going to give it a chance m, I must stay awake.

Our biggest problem was I thought we had everything under control. And slowly, I can feel that it becomes hard to even cry. There is nothing left in my eyes as I slowly let go of the rest of my strength, and I just slumbered to the ground. “Before I fall, I can see the Cult, watching as it comes in from the staircase, and I've never seen that expression that he has on his face before.” It is as if his whole world has been taken from him from him as he finds me, surely falling on the ground.

SLOANE I tried to look up but I couldn’t, my eyes kept closing without my permission, my entire body felt like they were failing and falling. Each attempt to reboot was nothing to write about, I hadn’t eaten, the only meal I had in me, I had puked them out. I didn’t know what day it was. I tried to use the bathroom, I said I tried because when I stood up everything was cloudy, my eyes couldn’t make out things anymore.

“I don’t have to show myself. You know me. You know me better than anyone. The truth is, I was the one who raised you. I was the one who made you into what you are. All you need to do is look… deep.” The whole street goes dark, bringing out the contrast of the dark eyes even more. I step back, and all of a sudden, the ground disappears. It becomes a perfect mirror of the darkening sky. I let out a scream, trying to run, but it feels like falling now. My feet can still touch something solid, but a force of gravity is yanking at me, making me feel like I’m getting absorbed into a sandpit. I stagger back, trying to get away. But the absence of movement in my feet makes me fall flat on my back.

My eyes roll back as I lose the control of my body and fall down. "Jarek..." My lips move in a soft whisper passes, before I completely lose myself into darkness.

I can't even call him. I blink my eyes rapidly but the vision doesn't get any better, the warm hand holds me again, I try to push it away but I'm too weak now. My body is giving up. I'm fading away.. Fading away into darkness.

When suddenly he felt an extremely painful throb on his left eye, he started to wobble and was about to fall down. Before he completely fell buttocks first on the cold carpeted flooring of the palace his eyes revealed a vision to him. The sky was at its darkers, the buildings were burning and were crumbling down, people were falling from the sky as massive pillars made of soil and sand raised from the ground reached the sky. As he fell on the ground his vision returned to normal, blinked numerous times and rubbed his eyes furiously.

Stace offers, reaching out for me. Somewhat reluctantly, I slide my hand into his, the warmth of his skin making me shiver. I stare into the depths of his dark eyes as the world around us starts to fall apart, and everything turns to black. I'm not sure I'll ever get used to this unnatural feeling of falling, my eyes slamming shut until I feel ground underneath me again.

Slowly, I shut my eyes and without a second thought, I fell backward and let gravity pull me down with great speed. To be continued…!
