The Alpha's Prickly Porcupine

The Alpha's Prickly Porcupine

The sky-mount is a terrifying, magnificent creature, its leathery wingspan wide enough to shadow the entire ruined courtyard in a flickering, bat-like veil. As it launches itself into the air, the world beneath us falls away, replaced by a dizzying, violent expanse of clouds and moonlight that threatens to swallow us whole. The freezing wind whips my hair into a frenzy, tearing at my eyes, stinging like abrasive salt, and I am forced to wrap my arms tightly around Daryl’s waist to keep from plunging into the jagged, frost-bitten peaks below. Every muscle in my body is screaming, stretched taut by the sheer velocity of our ascent.

Held between Fear and Trust

Held between Fear and Trust

“Not until she says you can.” Fear rippled through the crowd. Some tried to crawl back. Others cried. A few begged. None of it mattered. Ethan turned away from them and walked back into the mansion. Up on the balcony, Lily stood frozen. Her fingers were wrapped tightly around the iron grill behind her, knuckles pale. The screams below had faded, replaced by a suffocating silence. When she heard footsteps, her breath hitched. “Lily.” She turned slowly. Ethan stood a few feet away, his shadow stretching toward her under the balcony lights. She didn’t move closer. She didn’t move away. Her eyes were wide—not with hatred, not with anger—but with something closer to fear mixed with disbelief.

She Belongs To The Sky

She Belongs To The Sky

Tarnished and wooden is this house, Old and rickety, the yard, sodden with black mud that sticks and itches like lice, dark and smelly, yet the sky is blue, pale blue, it is ours, ours, ours. Strife hath no shade and shame no tinge. Anger is crismon, and green is fun, but the sky is blue, pale blue, and it is ours, ours, ours, We make certain that the constellations are ours. Ours. Ours—Amanda.

Mr. President's Lost Wife

Mr. President's Lost Wife

Alice was afraid that her tension crossed the limit. "Mom? Please control yourself," she whispered carefully. Her hand pulled Sky away from the bed. Sky didn't dare to say much. She was afraid that her grandmother's eyes would pop out or her blood vessels would burst. The red streaks around her lenses had gotten thicker. "Mama, I think we better get out. I'm afraid Grandma's head will explode. It's already very red," Sky whispered while shaking Alice's hand. "You're right, Honey. We'd better stay away for a while."

Just like the other readers. I cried so much because of the father & daughter. It's saddening but also heartwarming. It's a great book. . I enjoyed Ed, Alice & Sky's adventure Now, looking forward to Sky, Louis & Emily's own adventure.

Finished this sweet and relaxing story. Ed really behaved like a dick so his motive doesn't hold up. Sometimes a bit too elaborate so I skipped a bit but Sky is no doubt a marvelous kid. I was curious about Alice's mindset which was not really explained but Sky made up a lot. Worth reading!

I would have spent more time appreciating them if not for the gripping terror throughout my body. "Sky? Are you okay?" He asked. Blake must be home. I shook my head as another tear escaped my eyes, "This is embarrassing, but I'm seriously freaking out right now, and I need you. Can I please just... I don't know, lay with you until the storm ends?" Jax immediately kicked the door open, and I could see the realization on his face as he remembered my fear of thunder storms. He was quick to place an arm over my shoulders ushering me inside. "Of course, whatever you need."

Fear of Loss

Fear of Loss

“My family doesn’t want this engagement anymore.” Sky says. I astonished. How they could do that. Why don’t they understand that Masson is not a murderer. He is a nice guy. He can’t do that. He even can’t think about that. He is really a nice guy. He is kind hearted. Everyone knows that he is really a soft hearted person. I want to kill Sky for saying like that about Masson.

Jax looked at me with a serious expression. “Of course I do! I wasn’t born yesterday! It means when you’re scared of something, like I fear my father for example.” I through my hands up in the air. Jax chuckled and took my face in his hands softly making me look directly at him. “No honey. The word fear is more of an acronym.” I scrunched my face up in confusion. “Ok now you got me 38 shades of confuzzled fucked. Explain yourself.” Jax laughed and dropped his hands. “You’ve been hanging around Alida WAY to long hun. She’s rubbing off on you.” He said as he got up to get a pen and paper.

He had his arms over his eyes, lying perfectly straight but Moon and Lexi could see his toe thumb moving, a clear indication that he wasn’t sleeping and he was stressed. Moon put the kids in their play pen, and moved to sit on his chair near the bed, while Lexi slipped in the bed and leaned with the bedhead. He was racking his fingers in Sky’s luscious hair until he rolled and put his head on his chest, letting Lexi comfort him. “Why are you upset”? “I am not upset. I am….” “Confused”? “No not confused either. I am scared”. “Scared of what”? “Scared of losing both of you. Scared of losing Lucas and Natasha”. Sky said in a low tone. Moon raised his eyebrows but didn’t say anything.

The Actor's Contract

The Actor's Contract

The one fear rents space in. “Do you ever feel like we’re tempting fate?” I ask quietly. Both of them go still. I didn’t mean to say it out loud. It just slipped — like fear always does when you’re distracted. Sneaky. Uninvited. Wearing your voice. “Yes,” Mel says instantly. “Constantly,” Sky agrees. My throat tightens. “Because I keep thinking … what if this is just the calm before something worse?” Sky scoots closer, her knee pressing against mine. Solid. Real. “Aria. We survived hell.”

I turned to the sky, awakening from the darkness with light blue, my chest beating furiously with fear. Fuck, fuck, fuck…. Keithen Hook, you’ve screwed up again.
