Finding Light In Darkness Novels & Stories

"You are my Light that illuminates the Darkness within me..." Never before could I have thought that these words would evoke such great emotions in me and would be associated with a person who completely turned my world upside down. There were actually two people who did this, but one in particular shook my heart especially hard.

I said. "Actually, you just haven't realized it yet. Darkness has its own beauty." I look at Ozgur because I understand the meaning of those words, and I agree with his opinion. That's right, the longer it is in the dark, the eyes will get used to seeing. And maybe, when the white light comes, it feels like these eyes will not be as comfortable as when they are in the dark.

I hear the voice shout again. My eyes flutter open in hopes of seeing where the voice is coming from, but everything around me is dark. I've never known dark as this existed. I've lived in the city all my life, so have never been exposed to true darkness. A realization I'm truly only understanding right at this moment. Even at the darkest of nights, there is still some light that manages to protrude. Whether that be from the moon or a streetlight. Light pollution is there. I always considered myself good with the dark. Never requiring the use of night lights or flashlights to make my way across a room at night.

I would always look forward to her stories, which would be very entertaining. She always told me darkness represents malevolence, while light represents positivity and virtue. Her belief was that the power of light was the sole means by which darkness could be defeated. The resounding message she would consistently convey in her stories is that light will perpetually prevail over the darkness.

When I enter, I quietly close the door behind me and fish for the lock in the darkness, my hands shaking so much I almost give up and cry. Once I've finally locked myself in the dark room that I have no idea of what it's purpose is, I run my hands over the wall and find the light switch. All the lights flicker to life in an instant and a rather large movie room is revealed. Even with all the perfectly laid out blankets, comfy-looking chairs, a gigantic movie screen and a snack bar, the first thing I notice is the 'emergency exit' sign and it's bright red lighting.
