Flashes Before My Eyes Novels & Stories

Raven I kept my head turned toward the window even though I couldn’t see what lay beyond the glass,only an endless, thick darkness pressed against my eyelids. I could see flashes of light but it ended there. Why is this happening to me? I've been taking my medication,Killian makes sure I do . I take eye drops but the only improvement I've seen so far were flashes of light. I'm so sick of this coupled with all that's been happening. It was like all the forces on earth had ganged up against me.

That is, until it stops. All of a sudden I start getting flashes again. Flashes of voices. Flashes of hands. Flashes of feelings. Flashes of small bits of light under a blind fold. Flashes of panic. Some of the time, I feel like I know the person with me. Like I know the voices, I know the hands, I even feel safe with the person. Only some of the time. Almost like if I turn really fast, I will catch of glimpse of their face. It is so annoying to feel like I know what happened, without actually knowing.

She covered the bottle with its lid, “So why are you here anyway?” I stared at her with my mouth ajar, I didn't speak for a full minute wondering if this was actually the right choice I made, “I'm here because I keep having these flashes like hallucinations.” I tried to keep it vague, going around telling everyone I could see the future didn't sound right to me. She nodded as she handed me a tissue for my injury, “And might I ask what caused these flashes? I can tell it's not ordinary.” I cleared my throat, “By… erm… some kind of orb,” I said, avoiding her eyes and scratching the back of my head.

[Apple] A flash of blue, blinding light enters the room, making everything disappear as my stunned eyes lose the ability to see. And for one, terrifying moment, time seems to stand still until it stops, only to rush forward as if making up for the missing moments in a rush of movement and terror.

I splashed some against my face, sighing in relief. I looked back at the mirror at my reflection, asides the dark spots that was dotting the space below my eyes, I looked okay. My cheeks were rosy and smooth and my lips was more plumper. I peered closer at my eyes, zoning in on the dark bags underneath. Then it happened, it came like a flash but I saw it clearly. I gasped, taking a step back and blinked. What was that? Slowly, I moved towards the mirror again, peering closer. The flash of purple came again, more brighter than the first time and I gasped, but this time it was of pain.

My vision blurs right before another zing of pain goes through me. I scream and black out.

I feel light touch, I open my eyes, and to my surprise, I see my hands, I start to panic, What's going on? I see someone approaching me, a man with rich grey hair, he stops in front of me and snaps his fingers, my eyes widen "Father?", he smiles at me, my eyes gather tears and I hug him "Oh father, I was so scared, I thought I lost you" tears freely flow down my face, I use my hand to wipe the tears, I wear a bright smile " I can see your face, isn't that great! I don't know what's happening" He touches my face and kisses me on my forehead, suddenly everything becomes blurry "What's this?, why can't I see you anymore?" I stretch my hands "Father!, father!" I cried out "Father!...."

Tears blurred my vision. Immediately, a car horn blared loudly. Light flashed in my face...bright, blinding. I turned, and everything went dark.

The slight narrowing of his eyes. The stillness that follows. Like something inside him has confirmed what he already feared. And then it starts in me. Not a thought. Not a memory. A fracture. A sharp pressure behind my eyes that forces me to inhale too quickly. Pain blooms—fast, invasive. And then flashes. Laughter. Warm golden light. Hands brushing my hair back. A corridor that feels too real to be imagined. And a voice soft. Close. Familiar in a way that makes my chest tighten violently.

Trees glitch in and out of my field of vision. Till images flash about in my mind of the past and present and I suddenly realize that I’ve been here before. This is a memory, not reality! No, it’s not even my real memory, there’s something wrong, it’s an illusion! My eyes shoot open just as something sharp impales my chest and I gasp.
