Chapter Twenty Day Five. Early to bed; early to rise say the old adage. Bisola woke up even before her alarm woke her up, even though she slept early yesterday night, she had little sleep, her sleep was not a very pleasant one, she had a bad dream all over the night, with Kate playing the major role of tormenting and ruining her good moment with Dapo.

He mumbled under his breath while subconsciously digging his nails into the tiled floor. He finally understood that I wasn't being lazy on purpose. I also wasn't just playing dead or pretending to ignore him just to spite him. I really couldn't help myself. I had only suddenly collapsed during the exam today because of this sleep attack that was clearly written on this medical document. Dad suddenly rose to his feet and pulled open the bottom-most drawer in my desk, where a pair of compasses with dry blood stains and an old, worn diary were hidden in the furthermost corner.

In my opinion, that was reserved to take place after the marking. Due to the painful symptoms she was enduring, the act of venturing out of bed on her own would not be possible. There had to be a feasible explanation for the tale that Devin related. The one he just gave wasn't it. Now I have reasons to be concerned about my Beta’s mental state. Perhaps he suffered from sleep deprivation from being overworked at Alpha Camp. Or maybe Raina sleepwalked.

It was time for all good dryads to go to sleep. By Monday, Cooper had pretty much convinced himself that his encounter with the talking trees had been some kind of hallucination. All week long though, a strange restlessness plagued him, and he couldn't wait until Thursday night. Normally, he could go weeks between a run, but now the crawling between his shoulder blades just didn't seem to want to stop. As soon as his last class was over, he loaded up his backpack and headed for the forest.

The heat of the sun glared at the earth but thanks to the advanced technology, they could barely feel it. Dayo could hardly sleep at all the night before. It was not because of nightmares, he just couldn't sleep. His body was tired and his head pounded but sleep seemed to have gone on vacation. He tried different methods; counting sheeps, drinking chilled milk mixed with honey, and later ate cookie with honey. He even watched that boring romance movie but nothing worked so far. Perhaps it was the excitement of the other day that has him so worked up.

He was putting on a show. My fingers curled slightly beside me. Darren slowly pulled me closer against his chest while rubbing my back gently. The council members exchanged surprised glances. Even Darien raised one brow slowly. Darren lowered his head slightly toward my ear and whispered softly enough for only me to hear. “Pretend you sleep walked.” My eyes widened slightly. Before I could react, he already turned toward the room again while keeping one arm wrapped around me possessively. “She has been having trouble sleeping lately,” Darren said calmly. “Sometimes she sleep walks.”

I was never one to sleepwalk. How was I able to get past the guards stationed outside the door, go unnoticed through the castle exits, and end up alone in this forest? Something was wrong. First, it was that strange dream, and now I was sleepwalking. The wind was as harsh as it was in my dream. I glanced around, trying to locate an exit from my current spot. I took a step forward and the earth squished under my feet. A hum travelled through the night and my ears perked. Hoping I was heading in the right direction, I walked faster.

Rochelle Entering the exam room with the doctor I sat down on the table as he sat on a small rolling stool, he gathered supplies and began to treat the wounds on my legs, “want tell me how you got these cuts, bruises and look like you’ve just went through hell?” I shrugged as my mind raced for an adequate answer for this human, “you won’t believe me if I tell you the truth, but here it goes.” I chuckled, “I sleepwalk, and we live in a very remote area, somehow tonight everything just happened all at once, our little girl getting sick, as I was sleepwalking in the forest was not the best timing.”

It has been an even rockier few months for me since that night. And the nightmares don’t help. Sometimes I feel like I’m going crazy. It’s gotten so bad that I’ve sleepwalked. That information I kept from my therapist. I’m scared that if I tell her, she’ll lock me up. And maybe I should be locked up because every time I’ve woken up after sleepwalking, I’d wake up in the woods with a weapon in my hand. The last time I woke up, my clothes were shredded, and my hand’s hands were scratched and bloodied. Even though there was no blood on the weapon, I was so freaked that I checked the news for any stabbing victims within the area. None were reported.
