That's when the four boys got the nickname the Fab4. I snap out of my memory just as I arrive at the beach and pizza joint. I collect the pizza I preordered. It smells great. I walk down to my favorite spot on the beach, and the sand feels amazing under my feet. I put my blanket down and grabbed my book, Pride and Prejudice. I love this book.

Forty-four days. I wrote the number in my notebook, stared at it, and told myself it was still enough time to remember what I was doing here and why, even though I was becoming less certain that was true.

I make myself run it again. The ship is in four weeks. I close my eyes. Four weeks. I can do four weeks.

It was heavy, smooth. She could feel an incredible power coming off of it. “It is one of the four keys,” the man said. “Only you can find the other three. When you have all four, you will meet your father. And he will give you the Shield. “You are on a very sacred mission,” he added. “You must find him. For all of us.”

"I've been watching." The guns clicked again. Ashford's men had their weapons out. Victor's men had theirs out. The room was a powder keg. "Sit down, Thomas." Antonio Moreau's voice was calm. "Sit down." Thomas Ashford sat. The room was silent. --- "It's been four years," I said finally. "Four years I spent watching. Learning. Waiting. And now I'm back." I met each pair of eyes in turn.
