Jeffery’s POV The hot water blasted down on my back, but I still couldn’t shake off the cold feeling from the dream. I stood under the showerhead, letting the steam fill the tiny bathroom until I could barely breathe. The water was almost scalding hot, turning my skin bright red, but I kept the handle turned all the way to the right. I wanted it to burn. I needed it to wash away the lingering ghost of those weird hands, that dark forest, and that strange, booming voice that was still ringing inside my ears.
