Actual giggles. Which is ridiculous, because I’m not a giggler. I can’t remember the last time that sound came out of me. But every time I adjust my grip and accidentally mess something up, Carter reacts. He growls under his breath. Stomps his foot like he’s frustrated. And it’s so damn cute I can barely stand it. His cheeks are flushed bright pink. His eyes look glazed over. He sways slightly like he’s drunk. Really drunk. Drunker than the night with the tequila and the broken curtains.

Carl was amused when he saw their expressions, which seemed as if they had just swallowed an annoying fly. He laughed as he unhurriedly sat on the single chair left for him. He looked at each one of them and spoke, “Why are you all looking at me like that? You did not think that I came out of a rock, right?” The people in the room were startled when they heard him. They came back to their senses and immediately slapped themselves on their chests as if they finally understood. “Oh, boss, you are very humorous.” Carl looked at them and as if he had thought of something, his expression became extremely gentle and his gaze was even a little sweet.

"You might want to sit down," he suggested, and I pursed my lips, but complied, sitting in the open area of the cart. He casually pushed the cart down the aisle, confusing me initially. But then I realized his plan when he spun the cart around and pushed it down the aisle at a lightning-fast speed. I giggled, leaning back as laughter erupted from me. A couple further up the aisle glanced at us, and the lady smiled at our silly antics. I became a giggling mess in the cart while Hayden watched me with a smirk. Dad looks me in the eye laughs. Slow at first, then hysterically. He laughs so hard the whole golf cart shakes under his weight. His face turns red and tears roll down his face.
