Gavin listened intently, his expression unreadable. I couldn't help but notice how unlike the stereotypical mafia men he seemed: his body language was relaxed, his posture open, and his eyes never once hardened, even when mentioning Garrett's name. In fact, Gavin seemed more like a diplomat than a mobster, and I found myself unsure of what to make of him.
"I'll try my best," Gavin replied, smiling- more reassuring me than promising, it seemed. "I don't usually deal in these matters, but I understand your position. Garrett is…complicated. And I suspect that there's a lot more here than he's letting on."
