Gideon The Ninth Characters Novels & Stories

He pulled back his hood with his off-hand, exposing a silver-haired, scar-pitted face I recognized instantly. Gideon. Lord Aethelgard’s chief enforcer—and the silent shadow who had executed the family's dirtiest tasks for over two decades. "Darius was just the idiot who took the fall, Creighton," Gideon rasped, his cold grey eyes fixed on me without a flicker of doubt. "He thought he was running the show at Apex. He thought he was playing grandmaster, using Saint Mary’s Clinic to bleed Cross Global dry. But he was just taking orders from my employer."

For the elite guard to grace their home meant something monumental was happening—whether a blessing or a curse, she didn't know. Jake stepped forward, bowing low as the commander approached. “Is that her?” the Kingsguard asked, his sharp eyes locking onto Calista. “Yes, Sir Braavos,” Jake replied eagerly. “Her name is Calista Caitlynn. Nineteen, a maiden, and a virgin. I am certain the Alpha will find her suitable.” Sir Braavos signaled his men, and a heavy iron box filled with gold coins was handed over to Jake in exchange for his daughter.

And he was reminded the words his father said to him earlier. "Your future wife's name is Jewel Laine Mangubat, the only heiress of the Mangubat." He handed a picture of the girl and Gideon as surprised to see the girl in his house's portrait. The only difference what that the girl's face in the portrait was a lot younger than what's in the picture, A soft smile appeared on Gideon's lips as he guide Jewel's hand around his waist. "Don't be a reckless girl, Jewel," he said and drove the motorcycle away.

FLASHBACK to ninth grade. There were multiple middle schools in the area, but only two high schools. Ninth grade year is when Gideon saw his soul mate. She had the most beautiful read hair he'd ever seen. And her eyes were so green is was as if they glowed. He was mesmerized by her. Never had he saw a girl so beautiful.

To strengthen his claim as the heir, Kyle pushed me forward in front of all the elders, showing me off like a trophy. "Elders, this is my mate, Althea. She has been blessed with a divine gift from the Moon Goddess!" he announced, his face flushed with a manic energy. "I have died nine times, and every single time, she was the one who pulled me back from the brink of death!" "What?" "Nine times?" The hall erupted in chaos. All eyes were on me—filled with shock, greed, and a disturbing fanaticism. I wasn't a person to them. I was a rare treasure, a magical item that could grant immortality, to be used over and over.

Medication discontinued. The phone fell out of my hand. I couldn't hold it. I crawled forward on my knees until I was at Julian's feet. "I did what you told me to. Why are you stopping her meds?" Something flickered across Julian's face, something almost like reluctance. Sheila caught it instantly. She clutched her head, faking a wince. The reluctance hardened over. "Ada. Sheila is innocent. You've hurt her again and again, and I can't keep looking the other way."

My heart had pounded with every step past those guards in polished armor. And then I saw him. Newly knighted, seventeen, his sword still too big for his frame. But he stood like he was carved from something ancient, eyes already too sharp, too quiet. Not yet the Commander. Not yet feared. Just a boy trying not to look like he was still grieving. He’d nodded at my mother. She nodded back, without breaking stride. Later that evening, I asked who he was. “Gideon Malik,” My mother said, grinding dried bellroot into a vial. “Of Blackthorn Hall.” She didn’t look up when she said it, but I remember the way her hands slowed for just a second.

He stared, unfocused for a moment before another strained sound slipped out of his mouth and his eyes almost bulged out of their socket, jittering with fear. I smirked at his reaction. Good. Just the expression I wanted. Then I spoke slowly, my voice carrying the weight of a command, heavy with compulsion that could not be resisted. “Who are you?” I demanded. His only good eye darkened with a soft glow, caught in the power of my compulsion and his lips parted. “I am Gideon, a rogue assassin from the dark hive.”

Said Carmen. Jordan was surprised. "My son?" he asked. "Yes Jordan. I need your son to come with me to Aota. The warriors in the palace are not very fit. To tell you the truth, there are not even many warriors at all. There a a few good warriors, but only one best warriors. His name is Gideon. He is the one the entire country depends on for protection." The queen explained. "But Alex is still working for your father." "I know that Jordan. But my father has many fit warriors, who could train other men into becoming fit like them.I need Alex. He is the only warrior I trust for this job. Besides I grew up with him. We were the closest of friends. He will not refuse me."

It was the same warrior from the hall. “My lady,” he said, his gaze falling on Kairi’s peaceful, cleaned form with a look of deep respect. “The men… they await your command. And the prisoner… Gideon. He is in the dungeons. What is your will?” My will. The words were so foreign they barely registered. What was my will? My will had died on this bed.
