"Hulala! Adonis!" I rolled my eyes at Orora and shook my head. I walked past the wolf, avoiding seeing him. If Logan was here, he would be scolding me now or worse, would have carried me on his shoulder. "Hey!" I heard Orora tap the cured wolf. "Where are the others?" However, the wolf was still so weak that he just groaned at her. "You're going to lie still here for a while. You can't remove the silver arrow in your neck. You heard that? Silver arrow! As in S-I-L-V-E-R, silver!" Again, the wolf just groaned. "Oh! You are useless!" Orora finally let go of the wolf and stepped on him, making the poor wolf whimper in pain.

“And I am neither weak nor uncontrolled.” Theodore stepped forward, half-shifted, golden eyes blazing. He roared, claws tearing into the ground, fangs flashing. My silver light flared, responding to his presence, merging with his energy. Together, we formed a storm of light and power, a wall no enemy could penetrate. The golden-black wolf from before circled, massive, predatory. Its eyes locked on me, and I felt it trying to claim me, marking me spiritually, energetically. My chest ached, wolf and human instincts both screaming.

He paused, his eyes scanning my face for any sign of understanding. “I couldn't help but laugh, I guess either I'm hearing things or I'm not the only crazy one in the room.” Zayn stepped closer, his movements deliberate and careful, as if I might bolt at any moment. “You’re a wolf,” he said, his voice steady. “You always have been. You just didn’t know it yet.” I burst out in laughter once again, sharp and bitter, verging on hysteria. “You’re insane. This is insane.”
