Cassandra sat quietly by the window of the small coffee shop, the scent of roasted beans mingling with the crisp pages of the book in her hands. Outside, spring was in full bloom—leaves shimmered in the sunlight, and the occasional breeze stirred the ivy growing up the side of the building. Her book, a worn paperback about native plant life and ecosystems, was one she had read before, but she always returned to it like an old friend.

It’s like my own personal heaven. I walk slowly between the rows, dragging my fingers along the spines of the books. Some are new. Some are so old their titles have faded off completely. I find books on werewolf history, on herbs and healing, on the different bloodlines of the kingdom. I even find one that looks like a cookbook, filled with strange ingredients I’ve never heard of. I lose track of time flipping through them, sinking into a worn leather chair near the center of the room. The quiet is peaceful. So different from the chaos outside these walls.

The air was heavy with the scent of parchment and dust, the large shelves stretching high up to the ceilings, stacked with books too old to even remember their authors. I ran my fingers along the spines of the books, scanning the titles. Ancient Clan Wars. The First Kingdoms. Blood and Silver: The History of Alpha Dynasties. None of these were what I needed. I sighed, moving deeper into the archives. There had to be something here. I spent hours flipping through books, scanning old texts, piecing together fragments of history that barely made sense. Just when I was about to give up, my fingers brushed against a large, worn-out book hidden behind several others.

She was going to conquer all of these books today and find something interesting. She started the heist for the 'something' that could aid her to understand Chaol. After all, just like these books, he was still a mystery to her. His existence. His personality. His desires. His intentions. They were all so jumbled and random, that she didn't know what to believe in anymore. She squinted her eyes as he ran her fingers across the thick, dusty leather. She could smell the stench of bark and leaves from the books and she could feel the crumbling dust of their essences in her fingers.

He took the tome in his hand and looked at the title carefully: The Petit Albert. The name prompted the mind of the paranormal detective, he had read about that before or at least heard it, he knew that it was a popular book of the past century thanks to the french trying to sell books when the printed press swept Europe. Thomas decided to take it with him and show it to Elizabeth, she would know what to do with it and probably have more information about it…the clue that he might ignore she could solve. As he moved to place it in his bag something dropped from the middle of the book: a picture of two women, the picture must have had more than 10 years.

Everyone loves a good mystery don’t they? Especially to things that we can never really know the truth about.” He looked at her perceptively. Again she felt as though his words held hidden meaning and guilt flooded her at the thought of her true intentions.

Author’s POV: Next day all was going good, classes were going on inspector Isaac and John and others were working in their police station. All of a sudden, the electric lights began trembling. The occurrence kept happening for ten to fifteen seconds and then it was ok. Some people got frightened and all got curious. “This happened after eleven years, the same as before”, Isaac told in presence of John and another officer. They looked at each other. Students of a class started whispering. Seeing that the lecturer ordered to stop and again began to give his lecture. Lusie looked her left-right and it was ok few persons there steered each other.

Out of the eleven six matched closely to hers, the only problem is that they were scattered around, and some, especially the first two, had been more than twenty years ago. HeÕd explained their association as business-related, but from notes left behind and things the victim had shared with her best friend, the detective had been more inclined to believe their relationship had been more personal.
