Jean: “No problem. Good you messaged me today. What are your plans for the day?” Marie: “Nothing much. I studied a little, and I think that is what I am going to do.” Jean: “Take a break! Your holidays have just started. Stop studying.” Marie: “Studying is my favorite hobby. Taking a break from it is not possible.” Jean: “How can studying be a hobby?” Marie: “The same way playing basketball can be a hobby.” Jean: “Oh please! Playing is very different from studying.” Marie: “If you say so. Haha. What will you do today?”

He breathes out a sigh, boring into my eyes again. "What are they?" I plead, still cupping his face and reading the language of his eyes. I love how they look when they melt like this. The dark glow in them sparkles with flames of fire. A very alluring sight that I would stare at the whole day and even get lost in it. "The gym was my only hobby aside from work." That got me to smile real broad, releasing a small chuckle. "What?" He queries. "I never in my life heard of work being a hobby. I'm hearing it for the first time." I state, standing up because my knees are beginning to hurt.

All the children's cheered showing their agreement, "Yyyyyayaaayyyyyy" "Every one looks happy. That's a good sign. We will try our best to enjoy with each other. Soooo, let's talk about hobbies." suggested Teacher Huo. Before he could explain or speak more about it, a student asked, "What is a hobby?" Smiling he gestured him to sit and started explaining, "A hobby is something that you like to do mostly in your free time?" "Can eating be counted as a hobby?" asked another student Shaking his head teacher Huo explained, "Hobby is something that you can stay without. Eating is something that is necessary. Like, drawing, dancing, singing, gardening."

Bruce hurried. Evening had come, the sun is about to set behind the trees. Robin and the other were taking a walk on the yard. The kids dragged him to the flower beds and he gossiped with them. “Can you do crisscross skips?” Lily asked tagging at Robin’s hands. “Well…I don’t know. I haven’t done that in a while and I’m not athletic. I am a painter.” “Painter? Then do you draw people and paint them?”. “Yes, That’s my hobby and I like doing it.”

“You are used to being busy and having too much free time is hindering your ability to think straight, right?” He nodded, disheartened. “Um, how about you follow a hobby?” I softened my tone, tucking a stray hair behind his ear. “I have always seen you busy or being productive. Why won’t you do something fun for the first time?” He was baffled, tilting his head adorably as if my words were foreign. “Something… fun? Like?” “Things you wanted to but never had the time. You have a month. Try painting, writing articles, gaming, or watching movies or shows.”

“What other hobbies do you have that I don’t know about?” “Darts ain’t exactly a hobby. It’s an excuse to hang out with my friends and drink beer. They’ve been trying to get me to join a volleyball league but it doesn’t interest me. I’m in a book club, but half the time I don’t read the damn ‘literary’ books they pick because they’re total downers.”

Iero always shares to him the poems he learned from his teacher, and also the poems that he wrote, asking him if the ones that he had written were good. Sybb coughed as he cleared his throat before he opened his lips to speak. "Like a river of diamonds in the sky, accompanied by the round ball of pearl in the darkness, its light kissing the leaves of the trees that grew cold and were blown away by the harsh wind, traveling to many places in the darkness, not knowing how many people it touched.” He said. “Oh!” Everyone's eyes widened in surprise when they heard Sybb’s words.

“Anything. Hobbies. Favorite food. Embarrassing childhood stories. Whatever you want to share.” I wrap my hands around my latte, using the warmth to steady myself. “I don't really have hobbies. School keeps me pretty busy.” “There has to be something. Everyone has something they do when they're not drowning in textbooks.” “I read,” I offer. “Romance novels, mostly. The kind with happy endings that feel impossible in real life.” “Escapism.” “Is that bad?” “No. It's human.” He takes a sip of his coffee. “We all need to escape sometimes. My escape is hockey. On the ice, everything else disappears. It's just movement and strategy and the game.”

He explained. "Do you have any hobbies Owen?" "Programming." "That's your job." I laughed. "Then I guess not." He chuckled nervously. "Try a series of different hobbies and anyone that sticks with you, continue it." I shrugged. "What's your own hobby?" "Throwing blades, pole dancing, ballet." I could go on and on. "Blade throwing?" He asked, perplexed. "Yeah, you know, when you throw blades against a target." I explained using my hands.

He was patient about making sure we got it right where I wanted it above the bed. I catch him looking at it and smiling often. WHen I asked him about it, he said it was my first stamp on our house and he can't wait to see what else I do with it. He encourages me to find a hobby. Something to do in my downtime, when we are snowed in. Painting, reading, sewing or something fun he says. So, I'm not surprised that he asks me about it, once we're hiking to our favorite hunting spot today. "Have you thought anymore about a hobby, Little One?"
