My breath caught in my throat, my jaw hanging slack as my heart raced in my chest, a symphony of terror and shock resounding within me. I blinked, hoping against hope that this horrific scene was some sort of twisted dream. But the sharp sting in my legs and the gnawing pain in my gut were insistent reminders of the grim reality.

“I shouldn’t allow anyone in my life.” I say desperately. I start throwing everything across the room. I’m struggling to take a breath but I can’t breath. I throw all the dresses out of dresser. Her mind had still not registered how come the man she disliked the most was standing over there. So fast! So unseen! She was sitting there with her eyes widened like saucers and her mouth hung open in the uttermost shock. Her mind raced, desperately trying to process the sudden turn of events. The shock reverberated through her body, leaving her frozen in her seat. It was as if time had come to a standstill, and she found herself trapped in a nightmarish reality.

But none of that had caused me to collapse, yet I could barely move as she examined me with worry evident in her eyes. I could barely even function, I was in a state of total shock because I did not understand what was going on. “Your heartbeat is irregular, what's the matter?!” She leaned in and cupped my face to ascertain the sort of state I was in. I hated that she was burdened with much worry, but I couldn't ease her worries because I was still in utter shock and I couldn't manage to respond to her anxious pleas as to how I was doing so I just stared back at her with eyes full of fear and horror.

Tears welled up, blurring her vision as she struggled to comprehend the horror that lay before her. The shock and fear etched across her face were mirrored in the faces of those around her, their gazes drawn to the sight that defied explanation. In the abrupt silence that followed her cry, the room felt heavy with tension and unease. Whispers rippled through the crowd like a chilling wind, passing along the realization of the tragedy that had unfolded within the bathroom's confines. The once-throbbing dance floor was now a scene of chaos and confusion. I was transfixed by the horror of what was happening, and I couldn't do anything to stop it. I stood there, frozen in shock, as the music and laughter seemed to blur together in a cacophony of chaos. Riezel's words were just a distant hum, and I couldn't make out what she was saying. Everything around me seemed to be spinning, and I felt like I was going to collapse.

But that momentary shock expression on his face quickly shifted from surprise to a wicked grin, as if relishing the challenge I presented. A shadow fell across one side of his face, and to my surprise, he released his hand, pushing the trigger back. The sudden change in his demeanor was unexpected and my body froze with fear. And I felt completely paralyzed as I watched the bullet hurtling toward me at an alarming speed. The shock and helplessness overwhelmed me in that terrifying moment.

Sometimes, when I would find myself in a discomfiting position, I would imagine what it felt like to be breathless; I wondered what it would feel like to be completely, utterly, breathless and for every single breath of air to leave one's body. Truthfully speaking, I had always pondered the idea and the concept of shock as it was a phenomenon that caused me great intrigue. It usually was a feeling of distress and disbelief that one would have when something; either bad or good; happened accidentally.
