How Long Should Book Chapters Be Novels & Stories

She had been waiting to read the book, but she was interrupted by unfortunate events the previous night. Flipping through the first page, she continued to the prologue where the story began. Arlene was too engrossed with the book that she didn’t notice that she had passed a lot of time. The book contained 30 chapters and she had read fifteen chapters at a go. She stopped reading when she heard her stomach rumble, so she closed the book and checked the time on her phone, it was 4 pm already. She turned on her data to check her i*******m feed and the writer’s forum she was on for updates.

That series is intended to have four books, one for each dragon. I'm still trying to figure out a posting schedule with the two books. Richie's story is written in my head and is ready to be put to paper, but The Arena is my husband's favorite. Writing 17-20 chapters a week is tough, but mostly manageable. So I may divide the number of chapters each book gets each week, rather than focusing on one while the other finishes. That would mean one possibly two chapters a day for both books, rather than two chapters a day for one and three chapters a week for the other. I'd love your input and what your preference is.

Author's note. Happy 60 Chapter Guys!!!! I feel so happy and elated. You know, when I started writing, I was planning to write only 15 chapters since I just wanted to write about my Friend who died so I could feel a little comforted that she's in a better place. But well as I wrote I continued to get inspiration so now I have decided that I am going to write 150 chapters. Volume 1: Chapter 1-50. Volume 2: Chapter 50-100.

Hi there, readers! I have a question I would like to ask all of you. If you've read any of my previous books, you'll note that my chapters aren't really that long. I've wanted to keep these chapters in short bursts like I did with Nikolai and Dimitri's book, but I am finding that there's just too much happening with Umiko and Fenriz that it is impossible to keep the chapters short. The reason why I used to keep my chapters below 2k words is because the more words I write per chapter, the more you pay to unlock them.

Hi, guys! I just want to leave this note before I locked any chapters. You might start wondering why some chapters will have like part I, part II and so on. It's just that my word count every chapter cannot be shorter than 2000 word count so I have to divide it in order for you to be able to pay it in lesser coins. Hey guys, We are a few chapters away from completion. And as much as I wanted to make the story longer by adding additional twists and turns, it's already longer than planned. It was initially a 75-ish chapter, but I later realized that some details would be abruptly cut, hence the extension.

Rating it poorly because of what you don’t even know is cruel and malicious. I am sad and angry. I am a reader as much as I am a writer and I have read books with short chapters and understood what short chapters meant. Most times my chapter ends at 2.5k or 3k words, but because I know the coin consumption would be higher, I split the chapter into 2. I don’t like it but I have to understand and be considerate. I am taking this as an outlet to let you know sometimes we do what we do to make it easier for every reader. Getting rated poorly because of it is cruel. I barely get many reviews on the front page of the book so a review this poor would set me back so far.

I am trying to be consistent on my posts for you guys so we can really get into the good stuff! P.s I do not choose the amount the chapters cost, so if they are pricy I apologize for that too but I try to keep my chapters around 2k words but if I need to for my readers I can try to break them up. Just let me know what you guys want and I will try to accommodate my writing to your wants! Xoxoxoxoxo
