She nods and ducks back in only to come out seconds later. "What is it?" She asks as she swipes a piece of hair behind her ear. "This is from Hunter." I reveal the book and look down at it. "His grandmother was a tigress, like you. This is everything she learned and he wants you to have it." I hold the large, leather bound book in between us. She takes it into her hands and flips open to a random page.

Lena The musty smell of ancient books and crackling fire enveloped me as I sat across from Hunter in his vast library. My shoulders ached from pouring over dusty manuscripts for hours, yet I was no closer to uncovering the mysterious secrets of bonding between dragon and keeper. Hunter droned on about obscure rituals, deliberately speaking in vague generalities that revealed nothing of true import. I stifled a yawn, struggling to focus. This lesson was proving as fruitless as all the rest.

I don’t know at the moment, but that’s what I planned it to be. Hunter is a complex character. We saw him change a bit in the continuation of the book, and now we also know Diane is going to leave him, even after giving birth to his twins. Scarlett accused him of once feeling something for Oliver, but we know from his interactions with those around him that Hunter has been nothing but vicious and has probably never felt love for anyone really. I’ll leave you to speculate on how Oliver’s death comes into play here. Maybe it was a major event into making him who he became, or maybe it didn’t matter at all. Go wild people : )

As I delved deeper into the book, I felt my heart race with anticipation, my breath catching in my throat as I followed the hunters on their perilous journeys through the moonlit wilderness.
