“I said, come take a seat. You owe me that.”
She sighed deeply, but she listened. She took the seat in front of me, and we were facing each other as she started to traumatize me further.
“I met your dad on a good day. We dated for a while, and we lived together. I don't know what came over me, but I abandoned a little boy that did nothing wrong to me, for my own survival, because your dad told me to. I'm not trying to apportion blame but looking back, I was simply foolish and vile, but it wasn't just me.”
