I didn't fully understand what he was saying when an unexpected person appeared in front of me. "Carlew!" I immediately dropped my phone to hug him. Yes! I was that excited to see him. Even though we've only met twice, I'm already attached to him like this. There's something about him. It's like I'm into him, right from our first meeting.

What if he suddenly realized he’d met me before? What would happen then?

But his foot pressed harder against mine. "We've met," he added, glancing at My mom. Casual. Easy. I snap. "What?" They chorus at the same time, with eyes wide. My lips part into an assuring smile, at least all is not all that bad. My body jolted and I looked up to see his face. He had a twinkle in his eyes, at least that's how he was looking at me. As I stared at him it felt so familiar like I knew him. He was in his mid-forties and kind of looked like my dad. He gave a warm smile greeting me back. "I actually didn't catch your name Mr....," I blurted and stopped before embarrassing myself further. What must he think of me? I don't even know his name. "It's Adam Carter, Miss. Albright." His focus was on the road.
