Declan had two on him now. He blocked a bat with his forearm, hissed but didn’t slow, swept the legs of one and stomped the wrist of the other until the knife clattered away.
Shotgun guy raised the barrel. I lunged, tackled him around the waist, drove him into the asphalt. The gun went off into the sky, deafening. I wrenched it free and tossed it into the ditch.
