She just chuckles without saying anything else. The rest of the ride was silent. I watched and took note of the turns and landmarks so I could get my bearings. I don't know if I'll ever get the chance to escape again, but I'd be sure to check on Jess and Leo if I do. We pull into the parking lot of Sjoblom Research Institute of Mental Health. A seemingly innocuous facility for the research of treating mental disorders. But we've been to the basement. We've been in that basement for the last year and a half. We've been treating for general psychosis, schizophrenia, and multiple personality disorder. It's owned by a human doctor who's dedicated his life to "curing" the supernatural. Dr. Randal

Different set of people moved in and out of the bar, including strippers and wasted men on suits. I wonder what the fuck she's doing here all by herself, why did she drive this far just to get high and drunk? What the hell was she thinking!? I switched off the engine of my car and sat quietly as I began examining every soul I saw at the entrance of the club. Diana and Sylvester walked out of the bar wasted, my facial features flushed in terror and anger, restraining my emotions from getting the best of me I sat still watching them cuddle and laugh for minutes besides Sylvester's car like a wasted couple.

sure that your talent will be well compensated." He fixed his eyes on hers this time, "No need to sign it now, the event will take place in six months. You have two weeks to think it over. The opening of the club will happen right after a fashion launch." Cathy tries to return the files, "It's yours," Jon said with a smile. He ordered coffee for both of them, and chatted for a short while. "So, how's work going?" He was trying to start a friendly conversation." Cathy smiled at him, "Nothing different," she started to look around. "I'm just wondering," he was sipping coffee, "how did you ask them to take me off work? Ordinary clients can't do that." She was looking straight at him." He cough

Billie Eilish, SZA, Olivia Rodrigo, all the artists who understood what it felt like to love someone who didn’t love you back the same way. “I love you, I’m sorry” played softly through my speakers. I pulled up the hidden folder on my phone. The one I should have deleted years ago. Us in his old Astoria apartment kitchen, making faces at the camera. Him shirtless, me in his t-shirt, both laughing at something I couldn’t remember anymore. Him sleeping, peaceful, one arm stretched toward where I’d been lying next to him. Me on his lap on the couch, his arms around my waist, chin on my shoulder, both of us watching something on TV.

I'm working the overnight shift at a convenience store, restocking shelves, when a female live streamer bursts through the front door at 2:00 am. She holds her phone out in front of her, broadcasting live to over 600 thousand viewers online. The camera sweeps across the store before zeroing right in on me. "You're still working the overnight shift at a convenience store at your age? Are you just not planning on getting married?" I don't even bother looking up. "Not really interested." She gives me a knowing smile. "Oh. I guess your income doesn't really allow for it, huh?" The comments in the live chat explode instantly. [A night shift clerk talking about marriage? How absurd!] [He'

I was just glad we didn't have to pay for the damage we had done. When we were out, I gave Zhask a scolding in the parking lot. "You can't just hurt anyone like that!" I yelled at him, pacing back and forth while trying to calm myself down. "So would you rather let me watch while he's trying to sleep with you?" He answered, still feeling furious. I could tell how disgusted he was, how angry, how the calmness and the warmth I had seen hours ago vanished from his face. "It's a club! People are always trying to sleep with anyone! What did you expect?"

She talked to him for a few minutes but finally realized who had caused this. “I curse her. She will pay for it.” But Elena was nowhere to know what she had done. Ian was the last to visit his friend. He broke down and all his efforts to stay strong were shattered. “You, listen to me. You have to live. You are Aslan Parker. A bullet can’t kill you. And a woman can’t break you. You know how many kids around New York will become orphan if you die?” He tried to joke, but tears leaked. “Look, buddy, please get well soon and I swear we will find that bitch and punish her. We have to.” He felt a hand on his shoulder and found Matthew.

"Honey, it's my fault. I'm so clumsy. I shouldn't have touched it. I feel so bad! If it hurts the bond between you two, I-I couldn't live with it." She really was clumsy—but intentionally. She knew my parents were my weak spot. And Samuel would always side with her, no matter what. As usual, Samuel held her in his arms and whispered softly, "It was just a trinket. I don't blame you. I'll clean it up and get rid of it so you won't have to look at it anymore. Don't blame yourself." Zara looked at me, choking back tears. "But Ophelia…" "She's just a kid. A little soothing, and she'll forget about it."

A dark figure lunged from the shadows, tearing into the Rogues brutally. He was massive, his razor-sharp claws slashing across their faces without mercy. His fangs sank deep into flesh. Soon, blood stained the ground. The Rogues knew they were outmatched. They fled like beaten dogs, tails between their legs. Only once they were gone did I finally get a clear look at my savior. It was Vidar. I didn't know if it was just a coincidence, but every time I was helpless or danger closed in, he was the one who showed up.

They both seemed like they were congratulating me for being here. “You guys, stop it! We’ve already talked about this.” Mary said as she settled down, facing both guys. “Talked about what?” I asked as I sat down right beside Mary. “About putting an end to the so-called ‘losers’ club,’” Mary replied, deliberately accentuating the losers’ club. “Yeah, we did, but we don’t know how.” Rock started. “Look around, Mary Jane Espinosa. Everyone’s looking way better than they were last school semester, and we are still … us.”
