~Saree Bee Update 12/16/21 I really appreciate your patience while I not only got through some real world issues but I went back and heavily reworked this book. I inserted a new chapter so it may seem like you had to pay for this one again but you should have gotten Ch20 which is new, for free if you'd already paid for 20. I just wanted to ensure I'd put out my best work and I felt this book needed more. I feel so much better about it now! No more rushing I hope!

I pick it up and notice that it has my name on it. Should I open it? I know it's not good to snoop around people's stuff but... at least I have to know what's in the box. I need to know. If it has my name, then it means it's meant for me. I carefully open the box and inside, I find a novel. 'JANE EYRE by Charlotte Brontë' Scott loved to read, alot. I bet he was going to surprise me with this novel later but... whatever happened, already happened. I will definitely read it.

“At least there isn’t any danger here “, Jane retorted, still looking around. She was looking through a stack of books on a cabinet like her life depended on it. I began to question the sense in even coming here in the first place. I didn’t know what I had hoped to find and Chloe was right; it was reckless. And I couldn’t afford to be reckless, especially not now. I was about to sink a little into despair when Jane called out. “Look I found something.” She held up a little black book that was almost identical to the one I found in my father’s study. There was only more gibberish inside. Both of us froze instantly as if in sync. There were sounds of footsteps coming from the front porch.

I made my way to the main library, hoping a book would distract me. The room was dark, I turned on a small lamp and started browsing the shelves, running my fingers along the spines. I needed something comforting, something that would take me far away from this confusing house and the man who lived in it. I pulled out an old copy of Jane Eyre and settled into the armchair by the window. But even the words on the page couldn’t hold my attention. My mind kept drifting back to Lucian, the way his body had reacted when he saw me naked.

Maya woke Monday morning to rain and the book on her nightstand. She'd finished it again last night. The second reading had taken less time than the first. The words hadn't blurred at all. She'd turned pages without stopping, without rereading, without putting it down to stare at the wall. Now it was done. Again. She picked it up. Held it in her hands. The cover was more worn now. The spine was cracked in new places. The sticky notes she'd added were starting to curl at the edges.

So, I decided to go for a second edition of my book. He stopped for a moment; he always had the feeling that the notes are large and that he should reedit them. The part, he always didn't like.
