There must be something different about being unconscious to being asleep, because unlike when she’s asleep, my vision comes to an immediate stop. I wake with a jolt and sit up in bed so fast that I elbow Bellamy in the face. “Ow, what the hell?” He grumbles, rubbing at his chin where I hit it. I am gasping for air, I feel like my chest is being crushed in a vice and my heart is beating so fast that I’m afraid it’s going to burst. Bellamy immediately sits up and pulls me into his lap.

I woke up in the middle of the night, gasping for air as I shot up from the couch. I looked around frantically and tried to remember where we were. My heart thudded loudly against my ribs painfully and the blood rushed to my head. My hands were clutching the shirt covering my chest in a fist, trying to calm my ragingly beating heart. I finally managed to force myself to focus and reminisced what happened last night. Meanwhile, Adam, who apparently gave me some space to sleep and decided to sleep on the carpet instead, stirred awake and hummed in silence.

“Nooooo!” Adam jerks awake, sitting up in the bed quickly. Clutching his chest, he wills his racing heart to slow. He tries to steady his breathing but he can not make his body calm down. The dream took its toll on him, as evidenced by the frantic pounding of his heart.

Why was my heart beating so fast ? I head to bed and try to sleep with great difficulty and even when I do , I'm having strange dreams of the little girl screaming and crying . My last dream however , brings me some peace because it's Jace kissing my forehead saying .. ' It's going to be okay '

~JADE~ I woke up startled from a nightmare that seemed intent on cutting off my ability to breathe. My eyes blew wide in panic, and my heart thumped at an inhumane speed as I tried to take in lungfuls of air. It didn’t help that the light in the bedroom was dim. It took me several minutes of blinking before my eyes adjusted to the slight darkness in the room and for my brain to catch up with the fact that I was awake and safe, away from the horrors of my nightmares.

Due to her one-side sleeping position, her bread cheek caused her lips to pout. After having dinner with a playful chit chat we drift into sleep, just like we do on routine. Earlier than usual today, because we have to attend koushy's friend Janaki's wedding early tomorrow morning. But from nowhere my sleep got disturbed. The calm environment and the cold breeze were enough to put a person in a deep sleep, yet my sleep was broken by some unknown fear in my heart. I can hear My rising heartbeats for no reason in the middle of the night, taking a deep breath I sighed while still my eyes were fixed on my obedient wife.

My eyes flutter open as I wake up, a soft groan escaping my lips. My body stretches out against the sheets, actually rested. It has been quite a while since I felt this rested. The light seeps through the curtains and covers the room in a muted glow. I blink at the clock beside my bed. The numbers blur together before they finally click. Oh shit. A jolt of panic shoots through me as I sit up too fast, my heart pounding. I’m late. Way too late.

Chapter 4 \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ I was sleeping peacefully. I hadn’t woken up throughout the night because of the cold like I had expected to. During my half asleep state, I was suddenly jolted awake by the sound of a door slamming. My whole body writhed in fear as I snapped awake and assessed my surroundings. My pulse had skyrocketed and beads of sweat instantly formed on my forehead.

My ear was pressed against his heart and I could hear it beating erratically, like he was running several miles in a minute. I didn’t know what to make of that, so I just stayed put until I drifted off to sleep.

My head was pressed against alphas chest, sleeping peacefully when we suddenly heard the loud bang. We both flinched awake and stared at the door in shock. "What's that?" I asked him, trying to catch my breath. My heart was racing so fast from how loud and unexpected it was and how it disrupted my sleep. Alpha shrugged at me. "I have no idea. It's not my fault." He got out of bed. "Wait. Be careful. I'll come with you."
