Project Heartbreak
The movie unfolded, and my initial excitement began to curdle into disappointment. It wasn’t scary. It was just gross. A parade of graphic, gore, all gleaming intestines and close-ups of stitches pulling through flesh. There was no tension, no dread, just a relentless, numbing disgust. I slumped a little in my seat, crunching my popcorn with a sigh.
I could feel Jax’s eyes on me, a constant, heavy presence in the dark. I finally turned my head. He wasn’t even looking at the screen. He was watching me, his face illuminated by the flickering, bloody images.
