Chapter 13 The Detectives Scarlett’s POV I attempt to mind link my Beta to ask him if we have an ETA as to when the human cops are expected to arrive, but very quickly find that he’s blocking me from interrupting something that I don’t want to be a part of. I just smile and shake my head just as one of my patrols mind links me to let me know that an unmarked police car has turned onto the road between the Crimson Snow Pack and the Midnight River Pack.

My knees buckle, and I collapse to the floor. “Please I'm begging you, my family is depending on me,” I cry, touching his feet. He crouches to my knelt position, his gaze unyielding. “What's your name?” He asks. “Ma…Maya.” “I want your full name.” “Maya Isabel Sanchez,” I answer, my lower lip shaking. “Don't worry Maya, I'm not going to kill you not just yet,” he says, tilting my head to look at him. “I'm going to walk out this door and if you ever tell anybody what happened here I'm going to butcher everybody you've ever known including you.”

My adrenaline was sky-high, and I was pissed that I’d turned my back on the fourth guy. “Hey, I’m Whitman,” one of the fighters said, and sat on a chair in the corner. I turned toward him and held my hand out. “Kai.” We shook hands, and he smiled. “Who are you up against?” he asked me, as I placed my phone and wallet in the locker. “Some guy named Falcon,” I said. “And you?” “Falcon?” he asked me, with big eyes. “Do you know him?” “He’s some crazy guy from Montana. He’s been overseas and hasn’t lost a fight yet,” he said, and I smiled.

Luna Claudia nodded in response and she shook her head, snapping herself out of whatever she was thinking. “You are right about that one,” Luna Claudia said, and Mario wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her to his chest. He looked at Ezra who was standing on the windowsill from the outside, staring out at the people. It was a habit that he often had, a trick that he taught me whenever he wanted to run was to jump out of these heights, and though I knew that I might never be as good as he was, I knew that he was impressed by how fast I learned. But then again, having a father like mine, despite not telling me who he was, I was still forced to train, athletically at least.

I know you're like me, trained not to speak when held captive or tortured but if you know my name, then you know me, and you know why they called me Adolph's Shadow, don't you?" His Adam's Apple moved up and down as he gulped from the fear she inflicted with that sentence and those dreadful eyes. He could still feel the aftermath of the punch she landed below his chest before sending him sprawling on the floor. "As expected of the Hian Hoshi clan, to be able to produce such a fine gifted weapon as you must have made them proud and esteemed."

We stopped outside an iron bolted door, he typed in a code and the door clicked open. Inside was a store room, with mats, machines, guns surrounding every corner. I gulped down as he threw a bag at me. "Change." He said, gruffly. I slowly opened the bag and grabbed the Nike sport bra and shorts, he turned around as I slid the shorts up my legs. When I was done, I tied my hair in a bun and mumbled, "I'm done, boss." He turned around trailing his eyes over me, I noticed a black stud piercing on his left ear, his blacked inked tattoos snaked near the bottom of his ears. Why the shit dick does have to be so...good looking.

He trusted him. He didn't know why, but he did. Just because the man was his mate didn't mean that he should trust him with his warriors. There were a rare few that he would allow to take over in case something happened. Geo was one of them. He had trained hard with both him and Hiroko so that he could be just as ready for battle as they were. While Jin was great at silent attacks, Geo was the best at strategizing and finding the high ground. Miki was their defense, and usually took lead with the warriors that defended.

Amaris “Ugh,” I groan as I land on the dark gray mat covering the floor of the gym within the training grounds. “Come on, Princess,” Zach goads, knowing that I absolutely hate that nickname. “If you can’t stay on your feet while fighting me, how do you plan to take on our enemies, or any other threat?” “Fuck you!” I snarl as I flip, landing back on my feet and immediately charging him, launching into a roundhouse kick, barely holding back a laugh as he drops to the floor with a groan of his own.

She looked outside of the window as the car drove into their hideout. Mariko Saito, a 22-year-old lady. The youngest among the agents, who got the title of being the youngest skilled assassin in their batch. She's an undefeatable woman fighter in their league and in the right hand of Itsuki Watanabe, who owns the Moon Castle Agency, where Mariko is working.

"I'm sorry but I've been busy." Nico's gaze shifted to me and he looked back at Higan with a smile. "You finally brought someone? Is he the one keeping you busy?" "Hi," I greeted nervously. Nico leaned on the counter, his platinum blonde hair falling over his eyes slightly. "Hi. What's your name?" "Jamie." "Nice to meet you, Jamie. I'm glad that you're together with Hig. He sometimes wanders about like a lost soul with all his talk about not being able to love freely."
