As the lectures came to an end, Josh rose from his seat, nonchalantly making his way out the lecturing hall, as he got outside he entered his luxurious sports car, making sure no one saw him, and drove off the campus. A while later, he pulled up to the mansion and stepped out of the car, his strides purposeful as he headed inside. The rumble of his stomach served as a reminder of his hunger, urging him to find something to eat. Entering the living room, Josh spotted Mario seated on the sofa, surrounded by a group of people who had taken over the space. They were deeply engrossed in a card game, their hands flying as they played.

Their exchange continued until they were both gasping for breath. "I think it's okay now," Cathy said, taking her towel and wiping the sweat from her face. Josh is one of the strongest beta warriors in the Rhombus Pack, which is a few miles away to the north. It is still part of the north, but they are no longer under the power of Cathy's father, Dominic. "Miss Cathy, you've improved so much," Josh said happily. "I didn't think this would happen in just two days of our sparring."

Meanwhile, Josh continued to eat calmly and didn’t seem to mind. “Oh my god! Are these people crazy?” Bobby exclaimed in horror. “You both went through this? How did they recognize you? You were already well disguised,” Peggy spoke up. “Yes, I couldn’t even recognize Josh myself,” her husband said. Annabeth shrugged nonchalantly. “You two might not be aware of this, but Josh’s fans can recognize him by the back of his head.” Bobby and Peggy were speechless, feeling so out of touch at that moment. How could something like this happen?

“Sorry about the door. I should have mentioned it before I left, but it’s for your own safety. It’s spider hatching season, and they’re everywhere.” Josh stiffened as he walked to the window to look outside. “How will that stop spiders from getting in?” I asked. “Can’t they just crawl under the door?” Josh grimaced. “Wait, are you scared of spiders?” I asked Josh. I was starting to get the impression they were not his favourite thing. “The big bad wolf is scared of an itty bitty spider?” He glared daggers at me as Mulberry and I laughed at his expense. “That’s rich coming from the two of you. Clinging to me in the tunnel, afraid of the dark and anything that scuttled about,” he retorted. “Ra

the gruff voice filled his head, just as he was about to stick his nose into the flap of the small tent and poke around. Josh froze, the paw he was about to slip inside the open tent still poised in the air. Slowly, he turned and stared at the largest black bear he had ever seen. Shifters were notoriously larger than their natural counterparts, but this bear was even larger than that. I…uh…well, this is awkward, Josh finally sent through the mindspeech of their animals. I wasn't trying to be nosy, so much as looking for someone who threatened a friend of mine. No offense.

——- Inside the school, the hallways were lined with students whose faces were twisted into great, mocking looks of amusement, their eyes following Josh as he stumbled past. Josh felt the heat radiating off his body, but he completely forgot the cold sweat slicking his skin as the adrenaline took over. A sharp, jagged laugh escaped from his lips, a sound so wild and jagged it felt like he had just killed a person and was reveling in the chaos. Then he bumped into the dumbest person. Why did he always have to bump into trouble all the time? He was supposed to be perfect. Straight. He wasn't supposed to be the kind of person who expressed enough rage to earn fights and massive trouble.

That, troublesome. Key thought for a moment, his forehead creased deeply. Is there someone who can help him? he remembered Joshua, the most handsome man but turned out to be the most sadistic person he had ever been. He remembered that Joshua lived in California and used to hang out at a pub in Palm Spring.

Chapter sixteen It had been two days since Josh’s birthday. He and the little puppy had become inseparable—best friends in such a short time. After much thought, Josh finally named her Nunu. The puppy was full of life, always jumping around and wagging her tiny tail. Josh did everything with Nunu. Eilleen was glad she'd finally found a way to pull Josh away from his iPad. This puppy was good for him—it made him happy. And Josh being happy made her happy, too.

He said he was at Zoey's. Josh's mom didn't like Zoey that much so she didn't come over that often. He'd tell Hunter that he went to his other science geeky friends [what Zoey called them ] and everyone would be none the wiser. Josh knew Hunter wouldn't take the time to check if he was lying. The door creaked open. Hunter pushed it slowly and carefully stepped inside. Josh was wearing his white lab coat and his back was turned to Hunter. One of Josh's dreams was to be like Albert Einstein so he liked dressing up like a scientist.

They hadn’t expected an extra witness till the security guards’ station. Where the boy was standing though, there was no car in sight that would come in handy for a quick getaway. Still, in his elegant tux and wireframe glasses in that empty street, he was oozing with confidence. Kate finally reached him and grabbed his arm desperately. She was breathing hard and till the second their eyes met behind his glasses, she kept trying to recall who he was. She knew he went to their school. She was a junior like her but they had different classes. He was… “Terra,” Josh hissed between gritted teeth. It was the nerd from the rooftop incident.
