Josh was breathing heavily and was very disoriented so he couldn’t see quite clearly who was bent down in front of him. “Josh? Can you hear me?” The person asked him but Josh’s eyes couldn’t quite focus yet because he was seeing multiple warbled faces in front of him. “Come on, Josh. Focus on me…focus,” The person said again and gently slapped Josh on the face to get him focused. Josh’s vision finally found balance and he could see that the person beside him was Garin. He was in his human form and he had a smile on his face to welcome Josh back to reality.

he shouted, just as a rogue wolf lunged toward me from the side. Without hesitating, Josh leapt into the fray, transforming midair into his wolf form. His fur, a striking blend of dark grays and earthy browns, bristled in the moonlight as he threw himself at the rogue with a snarl. His teeth flashed as he collided with the rogue, knocking it off course and sending it sprawling to the ground. They rolled together in a tangled, snarling mess of fur and claws, but Josh was quicker, more precise. He locked his jaws onto the rogue’s shoulder, holding firm despite the rogue’s desperate thrashing.

Chapter 17 Josh had cleaned up really good. He had styled his hair into a messy bun with few fringes framing his face. He put his lenses off and wore his glasses. He straightened out his shirt and adjusted his cufflinks. He wore the perfume Bolt loved the most, on his collarbone, behind his earlobe and his nape. Just the way Bolt loved. He never compared Bolt to Marshall but he was realizing it eventually, how Bolt had memorized his body. He knew his soft spots, his ticklish areas.
