Putting the last touch on her hair with a band, Kiara reached for her bag and stared at herself in the mirror. She always preferred to look very simple. She was dressed in royal blue jeans, a black tank top, and a white pair of sneakers. Her hair was styled in a ponytail, and her face had only a little powder and some red shiny lipstick. Breathing heavily, Kiara spoke some words of encouragement to herself. She had an appointment with Aiden today, and right now, she was so nervous for no reason.

She walked over to an iron-bound wooden chest in the corner, took a small key from the chain around her neck, and unlocked a hidden compartment at the bottom. When she turned around, holding a thick, leather-bound book tied with a dark blue ribbon. She came back and pressed it into my hands. “What is this?” I asked. “It holds everything I know about being a Sayer,” Kiara whispered. “The powers, fates, forbidden things, ancient marks, and the realms. I even wrote down what I found about Sayer lineages and pregnancy, because our biology is different from normal wolves. Take it. Keep it safe. If anything happens to me… you need to know who you are and how to survive.”

His mouth crashed down on mine. I felt my body melt into his. Wrapping my arms around his neck, I climbed his body and hooked my ankles behind his ass. A buzzing sensation irritated my head. He chuckled as I snarled. "We do still have company, baby. As to who you are? You're Kiema, the woman who saved my life, captured my heart, and set me on fire. Be you. That's all I want. If that's prim and prissy with the rest of them, great. If you want to be more relaxed, do that. I just want to see YOU shining out of your eyes. Not some awful puppet for your parents." He kissed my lips quickly. "Okay?"

It seemed that the Lycan king had noticed that I was drawn to books and had several brought to me by Kiera, a steward who came in to clean the room and brought in my meals. She was a petite young lady, about my age, a daughter of one of the omegas. She was nice and very smart and kept me company when I wasn't nose deep in a book. Kiera taught me a lot about the Moonstone pack customs and ways. Since she was working in the Alpha's house and sometimes helped out in the healing house in town, she had a lot of information from heresays and rumours. She was quite fun to chat with. Sometimes Sebastian also came in to say hi and see how I was doing. But these visits were very short and not very oft

Aria was still speaking when Kira suddenly tore the book into half in one smooth move in front of everyone. Karen's mouth fell open as well as her eyes and Aria stood there in shock. Cassie's minions giggled as though they'd just seen a funny commercial ad. “You tore my book.” Aria muttered, her eyes followed the shreds of papers on the floor. Kira folded her arms across her chest and gave a smirk. “Are you slow to figure that out as well?” “I gave you my book because you said you needed to catch up and you tore it.” Aria spat anger brewing within her.
