Let The Games Begin Hunger Games 소설 & 이야기

A slow, dangerous smile spread across my lips. “The real battle,” I whispered, my voice low and sharp, “has only just begun… and Merrin’s three little queens won’t know what hit them.” Let the games begin… and may the most ruthless win. Spoiler: it’s going to be me!

Shane’s voice was steady, though his hands clenched tightly. “She looked out the window when the voice said not to. They don’t like it when you disobey.” “The what?” Shane didn’t answer her question right away. His eyes lingered on the girl with the rose blooming from her mouth, then slowly turned back to Farrah. “The ones who run this… whatever it is… they call it a game,” he said quietly. “But it’s not a game anyone wants to play.” Farrah’s hands clenched into a fist… “She’s dead, isn’t she?”

A show of strength, skill, and unity. Ben raised his hand, his grin wolfish. “Ladies, gentlemen, immortals, and smartasses—we give you the first-ever official Training Games.” The crowd roared with approval, but Tora snorted. “You make it sound like we’re about to break into song.” “Don’t tempt me,” Chelsea muttered. “Tempt her?” Isolde smirked. “Please, the wolves probably already have a fight chant worked out.” “Damn right we do,” Gunner growled, cracking his knuckles. His golden-brown eyes gleamed as he looked at Cheyenne. “You ready, Huntress?”

Alexandra awoke with a mix of nerves and excitement, her mind already buzzing with the challenges that lay ahead. Gazing out of her window, she took in the breathtaking hues of pink and gold painting the sky. The city stirred to life, its pulse synchronized with the heartbeat of the game. The Denver Outlaws were poised to face off against the Las Vegas Gamblers that night, a clash that promised to be an epic showdown. The stadium would soon be filled with the roar of the crowd and the crackling energy of the fans, eagerly awaiting the moment when Alexandra would lead her team onto the field.

I poke my head out from behind Blake and notice that the syringe holds a metallic looking liquid. Silver! They’re injecting silver into us to immobilize us! Then I remember… Every participant of the games will be heavily sedated before being transported to the games arena where they will all wake up in an alien landscape. Each participant will be placed in an isolated living quarter and take turns being pitched against one another until a lone victor remains. The arena for the Omega Games has always been a mystery to everyone. No one knows where it is.

Around her, the echoes of violence faded, but the hunger for the next game, the next hunt, burned brighter. And as she walked away, boots splashing through puddles, she knew this was only the beginning. The real game was just getting started, and Nyxara was ready for war.

An added danger, an uncertainty, for it was officially the start of the third trial of the Alpha Games. A buzz carried over her skin as she got to her feet and peered around. The scenery was much the same no matter where she looked, but there was one small difference to her left. Michael was sat on a tree stump, his eyes on her as she surveyed the surroundings. Before she could say anything to him her stomach growled. She hadn’t eaten since lunch the day before and was quick to dig into her supplies and grab two cans of beans. When she handed one to him, he hesitated and brushed the remaining smudge of mud from her cheek, a small smile on his lips. Maddie blinked. There was still sleep still

Arlen had been avoiding the festivities, coming up with various excuses. The Hunger Games used to involve warriors and people from various walks of life, competing in a series of obstacles and challenges to become champions and win the royal prize. However, these games had now evolved into a showcase of the academy's students, with no expectation of bloodshed, yet still had thrilling moments. "The royal family will be seated to oversee the games and award the winners," Roxanne said, eager to share the first family gathering with the omega she was proud of. 'What does that have to do with me?' Arlen wondered. He couldn't see the connection.

I ask curiously. They all feed off my every word, like I've seen them do with Angel. Maybe it's because I wear his mark now? "Like I said before, this game will be different. You shut out your wolf completely, your only weapon is your fighting skill. You can hurt each other, but I want zero broken bones. How many of you have seen the hunger games?" I ask, a lot of hands raise, including mine.

People around us started coming to their senses as they woke up inside the podium. “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to The Bloodlust Games, The final chapter” mum announced proudly. My eyes widened as the ground glowed beneath me, I tried moving out of the circle I was in only to realize that there was what looked like a force field wall which I couldn’t get past. I punched the wall twice, it glowed under the force. But that was all, I couldn’t move out of it as mum proudly explained the rules of the games.
