(Jax’s POV) Lucian had finally gone too far. Undead. On my base. The stench of swamp rot followed Marie wherever she slithered, and now every hunter had that look, fear disguised as discipline. Wolves, we understood. Monsters we could shoot. But this? This was blasphemy wearing a woman’s half-beautiful face. I marched beside Lucian while he ranted about power and kings and destiny. “You brought her here,” I snapped. “You brought them here. Hunters hunt monsters, we don’t bed them.”

The scent of men who had already used their toys. My thighs pressed together out of instinct, trembling as I thought of what was coming. Of the men they said came here. The Monsters of the North. The beasts who didn’t just fuck—they destroyed. The ones who were said to knot a girl so hard she couldn’t walk for days, who split cunts and left them dripping with seed like trophies. The goddess should’ve struck me dead before letting me end up here. And then, Suddenly— The music stopped. The pounding, screaming, filthy bass went dead all at once, like the world had been yanked out from under me. My breathing was all I could hear, shallow and ragged under the blindfold.

“Shut. Up.” But he didn’t. Of course he didn’t. He just kept crying louder, calling for his mom like we were back in kindergarten instead of the deadliest part of the realm. Tera was trembling beside me, her eyes glossy, voice breaking. “Violet… we can’t fight it. The Primorath commands everything here. The beasts, the vines, the air itself. We can’t run, we can’t kill it… we’re finished.” She sank to her knees, shoulders shaking, as the creature loomed closer. Its claws scraped the ground, sparks hissing as it moved.

The anguished cries of our allies continued to echo in the background as it spoke, its voice a chilling growl that reverberated through the night. "You cannot defeat me, Melvin," it snarled, its voice carrying a haunting resonance. "No matter how many allies your wolf may bring, I am the perfect definition of an immortal werewolf. I cannot be killed. Your feeble attempts to stop me will be in vain."

There were men and women, voices filled with anxiety and fear. Someone reached out to touch me. It wasn't Kael. It was a softer, warmer touch, checking my eyelids, my pulse. "The Luna is in shock, her heart rate is dropping rapidly!" "We need to stabilize her spirit immediately." "Quick, get the moonstone elixir!" "No! Her wolf is going dormant!" What happened? Were they talking about me? Is my wolf, Selene, dying? I didn't know. I only felt my eyelids getting heavier, so incredibly sleepy.

BOOM! Dark energy detonated into the floorboards. From the fissures, hands emerged-rotting, clawed, and skeletal. They tore through the stone as if it were parchment. Many of them... I couldn't count. Mutated wolves, humanoid corpses stitched together with pulsing black veins, all rising like an army of nightmares. "Eli, stay close, the moon goddess blessed me until sunrise" Lucen commanded, his voice hardening back into the stone of the battlefield. "I think I'll separate you two," the Dreadlord said, snapping his fingers.
